I think I am a gamer now, not like some feeble pointy shooty type gamer. A real one, that plays Dream Birds.
Blockchain is just a sales pitch.
Another game I have been playing for the past week is Town Star and this is a fancy pants crypto nft game. So sadly it is based on Ethereum which for some reason still manages to strongarm people into using it for actual things... Ethereum should really just go the way of bitcoin, let it have a fancy price but also developers should really not be using it for anything that needs to be worthwhile.
Server Selection
Regardless of the crypto, I like the gameplay. It is surprisingly tricky to get started and really be able to progress in the game. I think that alone will keep many people out from playing.
Which is not all bad since their real game will be launching soon and apart from the NFT's you can get for Town Star which is just the entry level game I think Mirandus will be a bit more beginner-friendly.
I do like the game mechanics of Town Star but it might just be my ignorance talking. The tech tree seems diverse enough to provide most level players with a form of continued play. It also seems to push for optimized play which means there is only so many different ways to build.
That forces someone that has optimized their town to the max to buy the NFT's which give them the edge and reach top 10.
Apart from the Pay to Win the game fortunately is challenging enough to keep my interest for now at least. Since I did spend the whole week playing it almost non-stop.
As with Splinterlands, it will soon become a thorn in my side so best to enjoy it while the play is still fun. There really is not more to games than that. They are like people, nice at first...
