“A wheelchair? Doctor Rose must have performed the implant then,” he trailed off. “You’re sure that’s not the brothers’ apartment?” he continued.
“It’s their place for sure, I know where those two idiots live and it sure isn’t that building.”
Brent made the quick mental note and the pieces fell together in an instant but he refrained from bringing the topic up. He cleared his throat then asked, “what else you have for me?”
The phone was silent for a moment then she said, “I couldn’t get the file for you.”
“That’s fine, it is less relevant now that the time line has been moved up. You would be best to rotate to observation and keeps eyes on them, they’re likely to have a few things to take care of before they try to get out of the country.”
“Okay,” she replied reluctantly.
“Good, let me know if she leaves. I’m going to go do dinner in a little while but I should be back in here later for a bit.”
With a quick, “sounds good,” she hung up.
He hung up the phone and glanced at the clock, saw the 5:18pm glowing on it and shook his head slightly. He turned off the monitor and grabbed his notes which were folded into a pocket as he walked out the door then turned and locked it.
As he walked down the hallway one of the office doors was open and he heard his name. He stopped and looked back into the office trying to keep his body moving forward, “yeah,” he said half heartedly.
“You gonna go see that new Scorcese flick?”
“No Lenny I’m not, I’m busy,” he enunciated and enforced the words.
“Ahh just wondering cuz I got ticket…”
Brent kept walking past the door and left him talking his office. He slid into the elevator doors as they were closing and soon was on the ground floor. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before stepping out the elevator. His mind was on asian food and he knew the place he had been wanting to go to for months. He hit the sidewalk and soon was in the subway.
End of chapter 8 and now I go into the evening scenes and then the final scene. I have a bit more to freshly write in this but have a good bit pre-written. I will have to do a bunch of editing on it but that is just part of the process.
