Los últimos seis meses del año son los indicados para los insectos. En esta temporada, durante mis recorridos por la montaña, disfruto contemplando algunas especies.

Me encontraba con mi nieto Matihas dando un paseo matutino. Ya lo saben, a Matihas le gusta explorar, es curioso y tiene suerte para encontrar animales extraños.

En estos días veía rondar en una de mis plantas a la mariposa pavo real blanca, siempre nos visita. Matihas, mientras la veía alimentarse con el néctar de las pequeñas flores supuso que la mariposa hembra, estaba dejando huevecillos sobre las hojas.

Sorprendido me llamó para que también observara ¿Qué le hizo suponer aquello? pues, la postura de la cola de la mariposa. Ella parecía inclinar su cola en algunas hojas y de nuevo retomaba el vuelo. Esa fue la descripción de Matihas.

No tuve tiempo de hacer disparos mientras la mariposa hacía esos movimientos señalados por el niño. La dejé tranquila y volví a casa.

The last six months of the year are the best months for insects. In this season, during my walks in the mountains, I enjoy contemplating some species.

I was with my grandson Matihas on a morning walk. You know, Matihas likes to explore, he is curious and lucky to find strange animals.

These days I saw the white peacock butterfly hanging around one of my plants, it always visits us. Matihas, while watching her feeding on the nectar of the small flowers, assumed that the female butterfly was leaving eggs on the leaves.

Surprised, he called me to observe as well. What made him think so? Well, the posture of the butterfly's tail. It seemed to tilt its tail on some leaves and then took flight again. That was Matihas' description.

I had no time to take shots while the butterfly was making those movements pointed out by the boy. I left her alone and returned home.

Retomando el momento de la caminata les cuento que vi dos especies nuevas para mi colección fotográfica. La primera de ellas es conocida cientificamente como Melanis electron. Según se menciona es procedente de la Guyana Francesa.

Returning to the moment of the walk I tell you that I saw two new species for my photographic collection. The first one is scientifically known as Melanis electron. It is said to come from French Guyana.

This butterfly, unlike others, has oval wings. I found it near the pavement getting some sun to be able to continue its journey. Hopefully I managed to capture two photos.
Esta mariposa a diferencia de otras tiene sus alas ovaladas. La encontré cerca del pavimento tomando algo de sol para poder seguir su viaje. Con suerte logré capturar dos fotos.

La segunda la encontré más adelante, casualmente estaba tomando sol. Es una mariposa hermosa, nunca la había visto. Su color azul impactó mi vista. Busqué como siempre información y vi que se trata de la mariposa azul cola larga. Entre Matihas y yo la seguimos para verla más de cerca pero, solo dos fotos capturé ja,ja,ja, el número dos me acompañaba.

Seguimos caminando, las mariposas volaban por donde quiera, detallamos que la zona está poblada de árboles, supongo que dentro de la variedad se albergan muchas especies por lo tanto Matihas decidió seguir buscando.

The second one I found later, I happened to be sunbathing. It is a beautiful butterfly, I had never seen it before. Its blue color shocked my eyes. I looked for information as usual and saw that it was the blue long-tailed butterfly. Between Matihas and me we followed it to see it closer but, I only took two pictures ha,ha,ha,ha, number two was with me.

We continued walking, the butterflies were flying everywhere, we detailed that the area is populated by trees, I guess that within the variety there are many species so Matihas decided to keep looking.

Sobre el tronco de un árbol viejo consiguió un chinche hediondo camuflado con el mismo color de la madera. Estos chinches abundan en la zona , dependiendo del lugar donde se acojan parecieran adoptar un color específico.

On the trunk of an old tree he found a stink bug camouflaged with the same color of the wood. These bugs are abundant in the area, depending on the place where they take up residence they seem to adopt a specific color.

Por último, allí cerca vimos algo parecido a una rama con espinas, hicimos acercamiento y por sus caracteristicas parecía una oruga de especie extraña. El supuesto insecto no se movía, estaba deforme, dudé. Lo movimos de lugar y allí detectamos que efectivamente era una oruga, alguien la aplastó y la mató por eso quedó en esas condiciones.

Estas orugas son venenosas y peligrosas. Por la hora no pudimos seguir explorando pero, si había una
seguramente hay más. Regresaré para buscar con más calma. Será interesante saber si en esta zona se albergan más especies como esta y cuál deblas plantas las alimentan.

Finally, nearby we saw something similar to a branch with thorns, we zoomed in and by its characteristics it looked like a caterpillar of a strange species. The supposed insect did not move, it was deformed, I doubted. We moved it and there we detected that it was indeed a caterpillar, someone crushed it and killed it, that's why it remained in that condition.

These caterpillars are poisonous and dangerous. Because of the time, we could not continue exploring but, if there was one surely there are more. I will return to search more calmly. It will be interesting to know if there are more species like this in this area and which of the plants feed them.

Hasta aquí mi diario caminar. Tal y como lo menciono, esta última oruga marcó un nuevo interés.
