¡Hola a todos por acá en la comunidad! El día de hoy les traigo un artículo especial dedicado a uno de los artistas plásticos más destacados de Valencia, Venezuela. Se trata pues de Renzo Rivera, un joven que a temprana edad comenzó en el mundo de las artes y lleva una gran trayectoria como docente y artista plástico. Aquí te hablaré sobre él y su trabajo artístico durante mi visita a su exposición de arte titulada, Apropiaciones. La misma se celebró en el salón de explosiones temporales del Hotel Hesperia WTC. Renzo Rivera nació el 23 de Enero de 1991, hijo de una familia de músicos, su interés por la pintura y el dibujo tuvo una etapa tardía pero muy fructífera cuando a los 19 años de edad decidió estudiar Artes Plásticas en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas Arturo Michelena. Citado por el mismo Renzo, su amor por el arte surgió no solo por las influencias de su hogar sino también por su hábito de dibujar dibujos animados de forma informal y al realizar una investigación sobre las obras de Leonardo Da Vinci, dónde se vió inspirado por la versatilidad, colorido y estudio de este. Fue el momento para formalizar sus estudios.
Hello to everyone here in the community! Today I bring you a special article dedicated to one of the most outstanding artists of Valencia, Venezuela. This is Renzo Rivera, a young man who at an early age began in the world of the arts and has a great career as a teacher and artist. Here I will tell you about him and his artistic work during my visit to his art exhibition entitled, Apropiaciones. It was held at the temporary explosions hall of the Hesperia WTC Hotel. Renzo Rivera was born on January 23, 1991, son of a family of musicians, his interest in painting and drawing had a late but very fruitful stage when at the age of 19 he decided to study Plastic Arts at the Arturo Michelena School of Plastic Arts. Quoted by Renzo himself, his love for art arose not only by the influences of his home but also by his habit of drawing cartoons informally and doing research on the works of Leonardo Da Vinci, where he was inspired by the versatility, colorful and study of this. It was the moment to formalize his studies.
Actualmente Renzo se dedica a la labor docente en la EAPAM y a sus pinturas, ya que también es egresado de la Universidad de Carabobo en Educación en Artes Plásticas. Ya son 12 años de carrera artística dónde ha presentado cuatro series de pinturas y diversos premios. Entre ellos están el Salón Jóvenes con FIA, el Salón Arturo Michelena en el 2017 y el Salón del Dibujo y la Estampa en el 2018. Además de 4 explosiones y explosiones en el extranjero. Se puede decir que el artista se a consagrado en el ámbito cultural.
Las obras de Renzo se caracterizan por la reproducción de obras de artistas plásticos varios como Diego Velázquez, Arturo Michelena, Rojas, Rembrandt, Vermeer y otros. En ellas, Renzo busca a través de los trazos rápidos, el color, las formas, la pincelada y el uso de veladuras, transformar la imagen inicial en una propia. Cuenta por tanto otra historia. El espectador frente a la obra se sumerge bajo la reflexión para estudiar la naturaleza de la misma y descubrir poco a poco las revelaciones que emergen de ella. Es un ejercicio de observación entre las atmósferas llenas de tensión y las connotaciones teológicas, filosóficas, sociales y políticas, tacitas en la obra. Renzo cataloga su trabajo pictórico cómo experimental, osado y sútil.
Renzo is currently dedicated to teaching at EAPAM and to his paintings, as he is also a graduate of the University of Carabobo in Plastic Arts Education. He has already had an artistic career for 12 years, where he has presented four series of paintings and several awards. Renzo's works are characterized by the reproduction of works by various plastic artists such as Diego Velázquez, Arturo Michelena, Rojas, Rembrandt, Vermeer and others. In them, Renzo seeks through rapid strokes, color, shapes, brushstrokes and the use of glazes, to transform the initial image into one of his own. He tells another story. The viewer in front of the work is immersed under the reflection to study the nature of it and discover little by little the revelations that emerge from it. It is an exercise of observation between the atmospheres full of tension and the theological, philosophical, social and political connotations, tacit in the work. Renzo describes his pictorial work as experimental, daring and subtle.
Acá les dejaré algunas fotografías donde podrán apreciar una de sus series, Microcosmos. En esta exhibición, Apropiaciones, se puede apreciar lienzos de gran tamaño, así como algunos sin enmarcar dónde (a juicio del artista) destacan obras de índole religiosa (un Cristo en suspensión, por ejemplo). Cómo comenté arriba, el artista experimenta con todo tipo de superficies y hace uso de su versatilidad para trabajar también sobre la madera (tablillas) lo que el considera un material noble. En sus obras casi parece desdibujar a las figuras pero de una forma tan exacta (de nuevo, la sutileza y experimentación) que no pierden la coherencia en su narrativa.

Sin duda alguna, Renzo es un artista que vale la pena conocer y además, es una gran persona y docente que incentiva a quienes desean incursionar en las artes plásticas a trabajar arduamente, con voluntad, disciplina y estudio para las artes y para la vida. Here are some photographs where you can appreciate one of his series, Microcosmos. In this exhibition, Apropiaciones, you can appreciate large canvases, as well as some unframed ones where (in the artist's opinion) works of a religious nature stand out (a Christ in suspension, for example). As I mentioned above, the artist experiments with all kinds of surfaces and makes use of his versatility to work also on wood (slats), which he considers a noble material. In his works he almost seems to blur the figures but in such an exact way (again, subtlety and experimentation) that they do not lose coherence in his narrative.
