Los virus postapocalípticos no amilanaron a la poesía venezolana. Las voces se asomaron a los balcones del espíritu a través de videoconferencias, redes sociales y chat telefónico, señales de humo y algunas acciones en espacios públicos, tomando las precauciones correspondientes. El propósito ha sido dar su abrazo cálido a la Humanidad, a familiares y amistades, brindar ánimo en la adversidad y recordar que el camino sigue y los poetas están presentes, aunque no tengan wifi ni celular de reciente generación.
The post-apocalyptic viruses did not discourage Venezuelan poetry. Voices peeked out from the balconies of the spirit through videoconferences, social networks and telephone chat, smoke signals and some actions in public spaces, taking the corresponding precautions. The purpose has been to give their warm embrace to Humanity, to family and friends, to give encouragement in adversity and to remember that the road continues and poets are present, even if they do not have wifi or cell phones of recent generation.
Día Nacional de la Poesía
El día 17 de mayo quedó establecido desde 2020 como Día Nacional de la Poesía con motivo de celebrarse entonces el primer centenario del nacimiento de Aquiles Nazoa, uno de nuestros poetas universales. Pero mayo también es mes de las flores, lluvias, canto de las cigarras a la fertilidad y llegada de las cargas de mangos, ciruelas y mandarinas. De manera que se pone muy bonito todo por aquí. Desde estas esquinas, plazas y ríos de Caracas y el estado Miranda se narran algunas historias de la poesía venezolana del siglo XXI.
National Poetry Day
May 17 was established since 2020 as National Poetry Day to celebrate the first centenary of the birth of Aquiles Nazoa, one of our universal poets. But May is also the month of flowers, rains, the song of cicadas to fertility and the arrival of loads of mangoes, plums and tangerines. So it gets very nice around here. From these corners, squares and rivers of Caracas and the state of Miranda, some stories of Venezuelan poetry of the 21st century are told.
Un frente cumple nueve años
En mayo precisamente se cumplen nueve años del nacimiento del Frente de Creación Literaria Oficio Puro, movimiento de poetas, cantautores, artistas y cultores que actúa en Caracas y en el estado Miranda con proyecciones ultramarinas. Desde ese 2012 hasta el presente han realizado numerosas tertulias literarias con frecuencia quincenal, cuentan con un taller permanente de poesía, realizan actividades de promoción de escritura creativa, y campañas de ecología y poesía (“ecopoesía”, le llamamos). El Frente oficio Puro viaja hermanado: con diversas agrupaciones: Liga de la Poesía, Letras Urbanas y Los Cuatro Gatos, de La Pastora, La Gran Poetada y Al Final del Boulevard, Conjuro de la Luna; Poetas Riìstas y parranderos de San Juan y de San Pedro, y la Asociación de Escritores en la región de Araira, Guatire y Guarenas; En la otra orilla, Colectivo Cultural Criticarte, En una sola brasa, Las Fulanas Esas, Ciudad de la Hoz, Poesía a la Carta, Suite Latinoamericana, Agave. Están también Poetas de los Altos Mirandinos y en los Valles del Tuy del movimiento Julio Valderrey, y el grupo Al vacío?, que tienen una valiosa trayectoria de largos años. ¡Ah! y las iniciativas editoriales como la gente de Giraluna que promueven los encuentros literarios en la Biblioteca Simón Rodríguez, en la esquina de El Conde, en Caracas; Editorial Mucuglifo, allá en Mérida; Colectivo Editorial La Mancha que también son promotores de los Festivales de Poesía Realenga.
La agenda de 2021 está en movimiento. Y en este mes de mayo se ha estado realizando el VIII Encuentro Latinoamericano de Poetas La Victoria, con epicentro organizativo en el estado Aragua. Cada una de estas iniciativas tiene su sendero propio y búsquedas, pero confluyen en la calle y en los espacios de encuentro, para dar vida a un movimiento inédito en Venezuela.

May is precisely the ninth anniversary of the birth of the Frente de Creación Literaria Oficio Puro, a movement of poets, songwriters, artists and cultural artists that operates in Caracas and the state of Miranda with overseas projections. Pero volvamos al Frente Oficio Puro, La pandemia y la subsiguiente declaratoria de cuarentena y distanciamiento corporal interrumpió desde febrero de 2020 las actividades presenciales que regularmente venían realizando en espacios del Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos Rómulo Gallegos (Fundación Celarg), en Caracas, y en otros espacios públicos y comunitarios.
Sin embargo, reaccionaron y desde abril del año pasado hasta el presente realizan semanalmente las denominadas “Cayapas poéticas virtuales” a través del chat telefónico, triangulando con la red social feisbuc en el perfil “Frente de creación literaria oficio puro”. En esa dinámica comparten sus textos y conversan sobre poesía y creación artística.
“Cayapa”, en venezolano, quiere decir trabajo mancomunado, solidario. Esfuerzo alcanzado entre todos. En otros países de nuestraamérica emplean la expresión “minga”.

But let us return to the Frente Oficio Puro. The pandemic and the subsequent declaration of quarantine and corporal distancing interrupted since February 2020 the face-to-face activities they had been regularly carrying out in spaces of the Rómulo Gallegos Center for Latin American Studies (Celarg Foundation), in Caracas, and in other public and community spaces.

De este modo, han acompañado también al profesor Aníbal Isturdes, poeta y legendario activista en defensa del ambiente, en la defensa del emblemático Samán de Catuche o Samán de Andrés Bello, el cual requiere de tratamiento fitosanitario especializado. Este árbol se encuentra ubicado en el Boulevard Panteón, antecediendo al lugar donde descansan los restos del Padre de la Patria, en la parroquia Altagracia, al costado oeste del Foro Libertador, en Caracas.
Se le conoce como Samán de Andrés Bello pues nuestro poeta universal lo señalaba entre sus remembranzas, y a su sombra estudiaban y dialogaban este joven maestro con su discípulo Simón Bolívar. Tanto Pablo Neruda como Gabriela Mistral, en visitas a Caracas, visitaron este árbol y dos bustos conmemoran la presencia de ambos poetas chilenos y nuestroamericanos.
El 29 de noviembre de 2020, en una actividad especial de homenaje por el Día del Escritor en Venezuela, se logró finalmente un compromiso de autoridades del Ministerio del Ambiente para brindar tratamiento al Samán de Catuche, el cual se inició en febrero de 2021, en una primera etapa. Las agrupaciones literarias Oficio Puro y En la otra orilla, destacan que a través de árboles emblemáticos procuran alertar sobre la situación que afrontan numerosos árboles en Caracas. Junto al profesor Aníbal Isturdes hacen un llamado nacional para sembrar un millón de árboles, atendiendo al llamado histórico que hizo el Libertador Simón Bolívar en su carta al maestro Simón Rodríguez desde Pativilca, Perú (9 de enero de 1824) y al espíritu de los decretos de Chuquisaca, Bolivia (19 de diciembre de 1825), y de Guayaquil para la reforestación de Colombia la Grande (31 de julio de 1829).

Thus, they have accompanied Professor Aníbal Isturdes, poet and legendary activist in defense of the environment, in the defense of the emblematic Samán de Catuche or Samán de Andrés Bello, which requires specialized phytosanitary treatment. This tree is located on the Pantheon Boulevard, before the resting place of the remains of the Father of the Homeland, in the Santa Rosalia parish, on the west side of the Foro Libertador, in Caracas.
It is known as Samán de Andrés Bello because our universal poet pointed it out among his remembrances, and in its shade studied and dialogued this young master with his disciple Simón Bolívar. Both Pablo Neruda and Gabriela Mistral in visits to Caracas visited this tree and two busts commemorate the presence of both Chilean and Latin American poets.
On November 29, 2020, in a special tribute activity for the Venezuelan Writer's Day, a commitment was finally made by authorities of the Ministry of the Environment to provide treatment to the Samán de Catuche, which began in February 2021, in a first stage. The literary groups Oficio Puro and En la otra orilla, emphasize that through emblematic trees they seek to alert about the situation faced by numerous trees in Caracas. Postura frente a proyectos ecocidas
El viernes 22 de abril de 2021, el profesor Aníbal Isturdes y colectivos poéticos convocaron a un encuentro poético en la plaza del Banco Central de Venezuela (BCV), ubicada frente al Ministerio de Educación, en Caracas, para denunciar la muerte provocada durante estos tiempos de pandemia de veinte árboles en ese lugar céntrico de la ciudad.
El Frente Oficio Puro ha denunciado los megaproyectos industriales y extractivistas como principales factores de destrucción de la megabiodiversidad, y han denunciado los asesinatos de indígenas y campesinos en diversas regiones del país.

Recordando al Chino Valera Mora
El frente de creación literaria oficio puro toma su nombre del poema “Oficio puro”, del poeta venezolano Víctor “El Chino” Valera Mora (Valera, 27 de septiembre de 1935-Caracas, 29 de abril de 1984), y nació para constituir un espacio de encuentro en el cual participan diversos grupos, que coinciden en la dinámica, y también de modo individual para compartir el disfrute de la poesía, la música y otras disciplinas como la fotografía y las artes plásticas.
Adaptándose a nuevas realidades, el Frente Oficio Puro ha mantenido su actividad también mediante teleconferencia. Remembering Chino Valera Mora

La recopilación no es exhaustiva, pero es amplia con respecto al dinamismo de la poesía venezolana de este siglo.
Fue interesante la movida. Hubo que pre grabar, concertar vídeo-conferencias, transferir vídeos y audios. En algunos momentos hubo que resolver la edición, pero siempre hubo apoyo. En otros casos por distancia, por el tema de la edad y el riesgo para movilizarse, por falta de equipos o de conectividad, muchos no pudieron tener mayor presencia. Sin embargo, quedó la huella colectiva.

Below, we share some links of events held in 2020, with the participation of comrades who are part of the literary cultural movement of Venezuela, Bolivarian Republic of the Tequeño full of melted white cheese.
