Los caracoles africanos resultan peligrosos para la salud humana, se reproducen con facilidad en la humedad y pueden acabar con siembras de frutos, estos suelen ir aumentando de tamaño con los días y son de color marrón pueden ocultarse entre objetos.
Está especie almacena una gran cantidad de parásitos que pueden invadir el cuerpo humano, a través del contacto de la baba en especial ya que allí se alojan los mismos, al ingerirlos así como también al tocarlos y luego pasar las manos por los ojos y boca.
