¡Hola a todos! Hoy vuelvo con otra reseña de un libro que leí hace unos años en la escuela. Un libro fácil de leer e ideal para adolescentes que se están adentrando en el mundo de la lectura.
Hello everyone! Today I'm back with another review of a book I read a few years ago in school. A book that is easy to read and ideal for teens who are just getting into the world of reading.
Lo que comenzó como un reto y una divertida excursión a las montañas amenaza con convertirse en una terrible pesadilla. Britt está a punto de descubrir que sus peores miedos pueden hacerse realidad. Su profundo conocimiento de la región quizá sea su pasaporte para la salvación. Pero si pretende sobrevivir tendrá que embarcarse en la aventura más tenebrosa de su vida. Britt ha estado entrenando duro para una excursión a las montañas en lo que será su viaje de fin de curso con Korbie, su mejor amiga y hermana de su ex novio, Calvin. De pronto, este se suma al plan de las chicas, y Britt se da cuenta de que aún no ha superado la relación que mantuvo con él y quizá no esté lista para su compañía. Black Ice me atrajo desde la primera página. Estamos en una situación muy fuerte rodeados de acertijos. Haces muchas preguntas y te interesas mucho en por qué sucedió lo que sucedió. Gracias a la pluma de Becca, la lectura es fresca y ágil, ni aburrida ni impredecible. Secuestro, tres niñas desaparecidas, asesinatos sin resolver, mentiras para sobrevivir, secretos y sospechas, estrategias... Debido al frío extremo, los peligros del bosque y la necesidad de sobrevivir, el libro está lleno de suspenso y una historia muy inquietante que no querrás dejar de leer hasta el final. Y cuando agregamos un poco de romance a nuestro dolor, la necesidad de protección, el romance que surge de la herida del pasado, o cuando es apresurado o diferente a lo que estábamos acostumbrados, estamos en el libro. Impresionante y perfecto.
Black Ice drew me in from the first page. We are in a very strong situation surrounded by riddles. You ask a lot of questions and become very interested in why what happened happened happened. Thanks to Becca's pen, the reading is fresh and snappy, neither boring nor unpredictable. Kidnapping, three missing girls, unsolved murders, lies to survive, secrets and suspicions, strategies? Due to the extreme cold, the dangers of the forest and the need to survive, the book is full of suspense and a very disturbing story that you won't want to stop reading until the end. And when we add a little romance to our pain, the need for protection, the romance that comes from the hurt of the past, or when it is rushed or different from what we were used to, we are in the book. Stunning and perfect.
La protagonista de esta historia, Britt, me ha gustado bastante, aunque por momentos me han molestado ciertas actitudes suyas, y no la he comprendido. A pesar de ello he disfrutado conocer más de ella a lo largo del libro cuando por momentos recuerda partes de su pasado, momento felices y nada parecidos a los que atraviesa en ese helado bosque en compañía de dos extraños. A lo largo de la historia podemos ver cómo crece emocionalmente y aunque se sienta débil y sin ganas de seguir junta todas sus fuerzas para salir adelante.
The protagonist of this story, Britt, I liked quite a bit, although at times I was bothered by certain attitudes of hers, and I didn't understand her. Despite this I enjoyed getting to know more about her throughout the book when at times she remembers parts of her past, happy moments and nothing like the ones she goes through in that icy forest in the company of two strangers. Throughout the story we can see how she grows emotionally and although she feels weak and unwilling to go on she gathers all her strength to move forward.
Mi opinión general del libro, es que definitivamente merece ser leído. Además logra atraparte sentimentalmente y es como si lograras sentir lo mismo que los personajes. Un libro ideal para analizar en un contexto escolar.
My overall opinion of the book is that it definitely deserves to be read. It also manages to catch you sentimentally and it is as if you manage to feel the same as the characters. An ideal book to analyze in a school context.
