馃摕 S艂uchamy radia w modulacji AM (potocznie m贸wimy, 偶e to radio na falach kr贸tkich). Jest to do艣膰 stara technologia, ale ma ten plus 偶e mo偶e by膰 s艂yszana na bardzo dalek膮 odleg艂o艣膰. Jej minusem s膮 niedogodno艣ci zwi膮zane z szumem. Wraz z rozwojem technologii radiowych i pojawieniem si臋 nowych standard贸w, takich jak FM (najcz臋艣ciej spotykane) i DAB (to jeszcze do艣膰 ma艂o popularne w moich okolicach), popularno艣膰 radia AM zacz臋艂a male膰, male膰 praktycznie do zera.

Technical information
馃摕 We listen to the radio in AM modulation (colloquially we say it's short wave radio). This is quite an old technology, but it has the advantage that it can be heard at very long distances. Its disadvantage is the inconvenience of noise. With the development of radio technologies and the emergence of new standards, such as FM (the most common) and DAB (still not very popular in my area), the popularity of AM radio began to decline, practically to zero.
Only Polish radio still operates on AM, the rest are some local radio stations with a very small signal.
We have FM radios registered at approximately 1159 frequency positions.
馃摕 FM and DAB offer better sound quality, greater signal stability and the ability to broadcast additional digital information (RDS - e.g. station name, title and author of the song), which made them more attractive to us listeners. The most important quality, in FM technology there is practically no noise, and DAB is the perfect sound, because you can hear it beautifully or it is not there at all :D (well, you can hear digital gibberish for a while, something like connecting to an Internet modem if someone remembers the 2000s and dial-up telephones).
馃摕 For many people, AM radio still has its place, especially in places where an FM or DAB signal may be weak or unavailable. I think this radio is especially important for very old and lonely people who have an old radio at home. AM modulation can be useful in the event of natural disasters or emergencies where traditional means of communication may be unavailable. However, generally speaking, in Poland and around the world, AM radio is losing popularity in favor of more modern sound broadcasting technologies, and we are unlikely to do anything about it. What's going on here?
馃摕 On the frequencies where I now have a relatively functional antenna, I can mainly hear Chinese International Radio, they broadcast in various languages with great power.
Interesting fact, they also have a program in Polish 馃槉 (maybe one day I will record a fragment and publish a small fragment for HIVE).
