Hoyle Granger is another running back and full back that played for the Oilers in the 60's and 70's.
Granger was born and raised in Louisiana and is a legend in his hometown of Oberlin as he led his high school to it's only ever football state title in 1961.
Granger then enjoyed a nice college career at Mississippi State before getting drafted in the 5th round by the Oilers in the 1966 AFL Draft.
Granger enjoyed a pretty nice professional career overall, especially his first four seasons. Granger's second season was his best year of his whole career when he led the league in yards from scrimmage with 1,494 yards and had 9 total touchdowns. That 1967 season Granger earned Second-Team All-Pro honors and was a Pro Bowler.
Granger's following two seasons were pretty solid too. He once again had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in both seasons and earned his second and final Pro Bowl in 1968.
Granger was a real dual threat at running back/full back. He'd finish his seven year career with 4,992 yards from scrimmage, 1,339 of which were receiving yards. He also had 24 total touchdowns and 134 receptions.
Granger was an Oiler in six of his seven seasons, all his best years were as an Oiler. In total though, Granger played in 83 games, starting 58 times. He retired after the 1972 season.
Really a pretty decent career for Mr. Granger.
