Keith Bostic was a really solid strong safety for the Oilers from 1983-1988. Bostic was drafted by the Oilers in 1983 in the second round and was the full-time starter from pretty much day one.
After a bit of research I find that Bostic was known as a very physical and strong safety with plenty of speed. Bostic had at least 2 sacks a season as a SAFETY. That's pretty wild, definitely not surprised he earned a reputation as a gritty dude. He didn't win a lot of awards but it seems that Bostic was a well respected player throughout the league.
In 1987 Bostic did have a pretty signature season when he had a career high 6 interceptions in just twelve games. He also had 3 sacks, and a fumble recovery. Bostic was named a Second-Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler for the only time in his career that season.
Bostic's career ended after the 1990 season. He played in 92 games for the Oilers, starting 88 times. He finished with 13 interceptions, 17 sacks and one fumble returned for a touchdown.
Pretty interesting player!
Here's some footage covering the Oilers 1987 season, the year Bostic had 6 picks.
