Well, life has been quite busy and I just have not had much time to write about my favorite team. Also, there has been kind of non stop news since the Titans loss to the Ravens in London.
So I'll just attempt to write this post beginning from that dreadful loss in England. I have been so busy and heartbroken from that loss, that I have not really thought about it too much. But I think I should watch those dreadful highlights, just to remind myself of the horror that was that game.
Ok, after re-watching the highlights, maybe it was not AS bad of a loss as I thought. It was somewhat close. Watching it live was brutal though. The Titans kept it close, had plenty of effort but it simply wasn't enough.
The Titans seem just un-clutch, and sloppy through these first six games. A real lack of spark or major reason to be enthusiastic. It feels like every point they score is a miracle.
In all phases, offense, defense and special teams (BESIDES our kicker for once) the Titans just feel barely average or below average and at times bad.
It didn't help playing Lamar Jackson who made some clutch scrambles when the Ravens needed it. Also, just a lot of bad penalties for the Titans, as I mentioned already. But man, those penalties came at the worst times.
Of course, Ryan Tannehill went down with another ankle injury in this game, which is pretty massive, and sad news. Overall, I do like Tannehill. The guy's not perfect but he's capable and competent. But also aging and once again injured? Hmmmmm....
So yeah, since the Titans had a bye week, it has been a serious storm of chaos in the world of a Titans fan. The Titans sit at 2-4. They are 2-12 in their last 14 games played. Tannehill is injured. The Titans have both a second year AND a rookie QB the team must decide to play.
I mean, the avenues of speculation are endless. Oh, and by the way, the Titans traded a franchise LEGEND in safety Kevin Byard to the EAGLES of all teams. Just like A.J. Brown. But it is different with Byard because he has been a Titan for so long and has contributed so much to the team. He was a team leader, a captain and loved being a Titan.
Kevin is one of my favorite Titans ever. His departure probably deserves a whole post on it's own, but I have written a ton about Kevin as it is, and probably will write about him a lot in the future, due to his incredible impact on the franchise. Also, I am already behind on Titans content as it is.
Kevin never missed a game as a Titan. He was a Pro Bowler, and an All-Pro. He now gets to join a Philly team with a great chance at winning it all. Philly is also where he is from, so he gets to play for his hometown team. I hope nothing but the best for him.
THANK YOU KEVIN
Re-Build Season? Levis or Willis?
The Titans got a few draft picks and a safety for Byard, and now the Titans are set to take a look to the future even more when it appears likely that Will Levis will start? I think?
There's been reports that Levis will start, and also reports that both Will Levis AND Malik Willis will play....
Yeah, tripling down on the memes is a bold move by myself, but sometimes I just can't find the words with this team. At least recently. Hey it adds some comedic value while also saving extra rambling LOL.
But seriously, two quarterbacks? Huh? Mike Vrabel in general has had a weird attitude and sort of a sarcastic-ish approach with the media recently. Especially when it comes to releasing information about the quarterback situation this Sunday against the Falcons.
It seems that Vrabel may be attempting to keep the Falcons guessing for the upcoming game. I've also heard that maybe Vrabel is irritated that a leak came out about Levis starting.
I honestly do not know what's going on at QB, or with the team in general right about now. I think maybe what could be realistic is, Levis plays a lot, with a fair bit of packages for Willis.
But I also wonder if Vrabel is genuinely curious about using Malik as a Jalen Hurts or Lamar Jackson type of player. Really just go all out and use Malik's legs.
But I really like Levis's arm talent, and Vrabel just might want to use the guy with the better traditional upside and plus, Levis can move fairly well too.
I just don't know. I think it'd be more interesting to see Levis start. Just to see him in live action. But then again, I really have no idea how he has looked in practice whatsoever. I think Levis has a really high ceiling.
BUT I also would like to see Malik get maybe like, two starts in year two under his belt, just to see how he looks. He has not looked awesome overall, but I do think there is still some potential there. I do lean towards Will more overall though.
The vibe with the Titans is FULLY weird as hell. I believe the team is as close to a rebuild as they have been in close to a decade.
It feels like the Titans are in, 70 percent a re-build, 20 percent try to win, and 10 percent pure confusion. Once Tannehill is healthy again, there will only be MORE confusion. The Titans play two games in the next week. I'm buckling my seat belt, that's for sure.
All I can do is watch and hope for the best. Treat this like a reality show, or something LOL.
The vibes are weird, but there is urgency I believe. There's pressure across the FRANCHISE as of now. Maybe this pressure will create diamonds.
