Steve Brown was a very consistent, quality cornerback for the Oilers from 1983-1990. He was a third round draft pick and became a full-time starter pretty quickly.
Brown had at least one interception in every season from 1983-1989. He achieved a career high of five twice in 1985 and 1989. He also had a single pick six in 1988.
Brown played entirely for the Oilers and appeared in 119 games, starting 96 times. He retired with 18 interceptions, five sacks and three fumble recoveries.
Five years after retiring Brown began a coaching career at both the college and pro levels that has lasted to this day. In 1999 he actually coached against and was victorious against the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV. He did at least come back to the franchise and become a coach twelve years later in 2012, before departing in 2015.
Today, Brown is coaching in the USFL. A football life for Mr. Brown.
