Steve Kiner was an NFL inside linebacker that played his eight years of professional football entirely in the 1970's. 1970-1978 to be exact. His final five seasons were spent with the Houston Oilers.
Kiner never missed a game in his half-decade of football with the Oilers! He played in 72 games with the team, starting 71 times! He also has three playoff starts for Houston.
Throughout his career with the Oilers, Kiner had 5 interceptions, and 10.5 sacks.
Kiner played for the Cowboys and Patriots before joining the Oilers.
Prior to his pro career, Kiner had a pretty legendary college career for the University of Tennessee. He was All-SEC with regularity, a 2x All-American, along with numerous other awards for his fantastic defensive skill. He's in the University of Tennessee Athletic HOF and the College Football Hall of Fame.
Pretty funny how Kiner played college at Tennessee, then played professionally in Texas for a team that would eventually return to Tennessee!!
