So, I have had a pretty busy week at my new job and so it's been a bit challenging to find time to blog about the Titans. But I've got time now!!
Last week the Titans faced the Bucs in their second preseason game, and the Titans played pretty well! I'd say much more improved over their first preseason game against the Ravens.
Malik Willis had trouble dealing with pressure against the Bucs but still showed his mobility well at times.
Malik really improved in the pocket in this game though! Here he is firing a touchdown pass to fellow rookie TE Chig Okonkwo!
Here is another sweet video detailing Malik's improvement. Still a work in progress, but overall pretty encouraging.
The Kyle Phillips hype continues, as he shows off his shifty punt return ability vs the Bucs! Almost goes to the house!
2021 first round draft pick, CB Caleb Farley, has shown strong signs of improving as well which is fantastic. His potential seems through the roof! Dude is freakishly big for his position I feel.
The Titans played well on defense overall against the Bucs, only allowing three points. David Anenih recorded ANOTHER sack. Ola Adeniyi, Da'Shawn Hand, and Rashad Weaver also each had a sack. MLB Joseph Jones also had a nice night, recording an interception.
Overall it was a solid night for the Titans in Nashville vs the Bucs! Meaningless game, but still nice to see a Titans victory.
Titans vs Cardinals Preview!
Tomorrow night the Cardinals will be in Nashville for the team's final preseason game!
Prior to the game, the two teams actually had a joint practice.
The Titans got mostly clobbered by the Cardinals last season in the season opener of 2021, so these reps at practice and the reps in the game tomorrow are going to be pretty valuable. Plus, despite the Cardinals falling off last year towards the end of the season, they were still a playoff team.
I am unsure how much either team's starters will play, if they play at all, but I do expect a lot of second stringers at the very least will get extended playing time.
I think there's an interesting battle happening for the Titans' RB2 position. Hassan Haskins and Julius Chestnut are both having moments. This final game will prove valuable for that race.
One more game baby, and then it's just waiting on September 11th!!!
