Ah man, once upon a time I was a massive Vince Young fan. My hopes were so high that he'd be the next Steve McNair. That little kid is still in me that remembers and admires the magic Vince could bring to a football field.
No source link needed here. Yours truly drew this one hot summer probably sixteen years ago, or something. I copied from a Sports Illustrated mag. I don't know what those smudges are, ok? This thing is ancient.
Vince was a super hyped NFL prospect entering the 2006 NFL Draft and for good reason. Vince Young is one of the best and all around most exciting college football players to ever exist. That 2005 Texas team might be the most exciting college team I've ever seen, and that 2005 Vince Young is one of my favorite players ever. Vince and the Longhorns won the National Championship that Year and Texas retired his #10 jersey just two years later. In 2019 Vince was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Vince's pro career however was a bit of a mixed bag. Vince had high highs and low lows.
For the Titans, Vince could often will his team to victory and make amazing scrambles like this one!

Vince also was able to have a decent winning record of 30-17 as a starting quarterback for the Titans and he even led the Titans to the playoffs in 2007.
But at the same time there were some negatives during Young's five years as a Titan. Young was somewhat inconsistent overall, he had an awful TD-INT ratio and it was pretty evident Young was a bit immature overall.
Young was released by the Titans prior to the 2011 season. Young played in 54 games for the Titans, starting 47 games. He threw for 8,964 passing yards with a 42 TD - 42 INT ratio. He did add 1,380 yards on the ground and 12 rushing touchdowns as well.
Overall, as I get older, I do appreciate what Vince brought to the table. He was a thrilling college player and he had a handful of great moments in the NFL too. Can't believe it's been over seventeen years since he was drafted.
Thanks for everything Vince. I still remember getting Madden 08 for Christmas like it was yesterday.
