Beautiful and blessed Saturday my beautiful people of Hive. I sincerely hope you are having a great time. After finishing with the housework, I decided to take a break and a little time to relax doing the activities that I like the most and that connect me with my creative self. Today I share with you a little bit of my practice with grid drawings.
Ever since I discovered this simple and perhaps a little childish technique of drawing figures using a grid sheet as a base, I felt like trying to make these drawings. I also wanted to try my new markers that I bought a few days ago. The truth is that drawing allows me to pamper my inner child and gives me a lot of peace, so whenever I can I do it and I share it with you.
Today I chose to start with these two very simple figures, a duckling and a macaw. The graphics are available on Pinterest, there are from the simplest to much more complex figures. Simple figures like these are ideal for working on attention and concentration in children. As a teacher I can say that I think it is a great activity to stimulate creativity and focus attention. It is nice to see how the figure is formed as we color the squares.
When I was coloring the macaw, the paper smudged a little because when working with markers you have to wait for it to dry a little. The duckling was much easier for me because it had a black border and then the center in yellow, I only used two colors. When working with multiple colors you have to pay a lot more attention.
Making this kind of drawings excites me, because I am sure that they will serve me as graphics for my cross stitch embroidery and knitting. It has occurred to me to have a notebook exclusively for this type of drawings so I can keep them as patterns. I was delighted to share with you these drawings, for now I say goodbye wishing you a great weekend. Greetings and blessings!
