Lettering para principiantes: ¡Comencemos con el Falso Lettering! || Lettering for beginners: Let's start with False Lettering!

No,tranquilo, no leíste mal el título de esta publicación. En efecto, hoy te comentaré un poco sobre el Falso Lettering que básicamente se trata de un Hand Lettering imitando a un Brush Lettering. El Hand Lettering no es más que aquel que se realiza con lápices, marcadores o bolígrafos de punta redonda normal mientras que el Brush Lettering es aquel que se realiza con marcadores más especializados, los famosos punta pincel o brushpen.

Desde mi punto de vista, el Falso Lettering es la manera un poco más sencilla de aprender a realizar lettering. Comenzamos dibujando las letras para luego darles ese "grosor" particular y, de esta manera, con la práctica las letras nos irán saliendo más fácilmente y poco a poco le agarramos el ritmo al brushlettering porque así sabremos cuáles son los trazos que bajan y cuáles son los trazos que suben. Créanme cuando les digo que usar marcadores punta pincel para realizar lettering no es tan sencillo como parece, incluso a veces todavía me cuesta, pero no hay nada que con la práctica no se solucione.

Hoy les comparto un breve paso a paso de cómo realizar un Falso Lettering e incluso puedes practicar con esta misma plantilla de letra cursiva que comparto acá.

PASO 1: Si usas una hoja blanca te recomiendo realizar unas líneas guías del mismo grosor, pero si usas hoja punteada o de líneas puedes ir directamente al Paso 2.

PASO 2: Dibujar la letra con tu caligrafía normal o con alguna tipografía en particular que te guste. Sí no te sientes seguro de tus trazos puedes realizarlos primero a lápiz y luego emplear color o marcador.

PASO 3: En aquellos trazos donde tenga que ser grueso realiza un doble trazo para conseguir el efecto de caligrafía.

PASO 4: Rellena el trazo grueso que acabas de realizar.

La idea es practicar letra por letra hasta lograr el abecedario completo y cuando ya te sientas más seguro de tus trazos puedes probar realizando una palabra o incluso una frase. Básicamente es como hacer una caligrafía solo que un poco más estética y colorida.

Today I share with you a brief step by step on how to make a False Lettering and you can even practice with this same cursive lettering template that I share here.

STEP 1: If you use a white sheet I recommend you to make some guide lines of the same thickness, but if you use a dotted or lined sheet you can go directly to Step 2.

STEP 2: Draw the letter with your normal calligraphy or with a particular typeface you like. If you are not confident with your strokes you can draw them first in pencil and then use color or marker.

STEP 3: In those strokes where it has to be thick, make a double stroke to get the calligraphy effect.

STEP 4: Fill in the thick stroke you have just made.

The idea is to practice letter by letter until you get the complete alphabet and when you feel more confident with your strokes you can try making a word or even a phrase. Basically it is like doing calligraphy only a little more aesthetic and colorful.
