I had wondered about this coffee shop long enough the time had come to stop the car, explore and try out the cappuccinos. Lucky for me it was a Friday and my fun adventure turned into a #marketFriday in a quirky world of plants, ornaments and covid warnings. It is a tag organised and beautifully kept going by the ever energetic

According to the locals this shop/business had been running successfully for a number of years. They say the barista come owner makes a mean coffee.
Up close and personal with the building it seemed to be quite old and full of wonderful history stories. My guess is that it was built in the 1950's or earlier, and started as a corner shop selling lots of lollies to little children with big round eyes. I can see the shop keeper kindly waiting while the kids pointed and asked for 1, 2 or 3 raspberries, freckles, musks and lollipops filling little white paper packets. Ahh, the memories and all for a few pennies.
Walking up to the doorway of number 58 I was struck by the old worldly narrow steps and the sizeable display of covid warning signs inside and outside.
The coffee was ordered and the barista/owner said that customers sit outside due to covid restrictions. Sitting and viewing the surrounds, the street and footpath was most pleasant, so much to see.
In every direction there were knick knacks and plants, so entertaining and so creatively positioned in the right places. Just check out the 2 bird cages hanging from the awning. A close look was warranted, the birds were not real!
And dogs were welcome with their walker owners.
The chives and sage were very healthy, adding to the garden pot atmosphere amongst the flowers.
Poking my curious self around the corner I found a paved pathway leading to a very inviting outdoor sitting area full of plants. I was hoping that a customer wearing a mask with an iPhone in hand would be tolerated!
I felt like Alice in Wonderland, so much to see everywhere I went. So much to take in, here I am now in a beautiful funky garden full of directions, white arrows and reflections in a round looking glass.
Mirror mirror on the wall, what is the prettiest flower of all?
Maybe this area was not open to the public while the owners had breakfast, I saw that the house joined on to the coffee shop.
Like all good things come to an end so did my exceptionally entertaining coffee stop at The Expresso House in a street in a suburb called Windsor in the the city of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland.
To give a bigger picture of this somewhat unique coffee shop sitting in a suburb of houses, here is an up the street view ...........
And across the road with a stop sign and a oblong round-a-bout.
Anyone want to join me next time I visit the quirky Espresso House?
