Being thankful is a good thing. In the U.S. we take one day out of the year to give thanks. It's called Thanksgiving. We gather together to feast with family and/or friends to celebrate. While it has its roots in a Pilgrim and Native American tradition, the reality is we can be thankful on any given day.
When it comes to holidays, Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite.
- Christmas is great
- Independence Day is great
- Easter is great
But for me, none hold a candle to Thanksgiving. I think it's the gathering of loved ones around a feast where every single person spends a moment sharing what they are thankful for. This is a moment where we aren't looking at what we don't have or don't have yet. It isn't a moment for us to moan and groan about what could have been.
Nope.
On Thanksgiving when each person takes a moment to share what they are thankful for, it's a truly beautiful thing. It's also a lesson for to take with us beyond one day of the year. Any day can be a day of thanks no matter where you happen to live in the world.
