Today's prompt was to find a Freewriters Prompt and freewrite for 5 minutes. First I had to find out what a Freewriters Prompt was. Turns out there is a whole lot out there about Freewriting. Odd that I've been under some sort of rock to have heard about this. So, I was today years old when I learned about and did my first Freewrite.
I perused a list of 60 Freewrite Prompts and #58 caught my attention:
For years, he carefully planned out this day.
In this case I'll change it to a she, since that makes more sense for my freewrite.
For years, she had carefully planned out this day. She had practiced each moment in her head. She had even occasionally caught herself acting out the motions. If she could look at her brain she was was sure she would see the deepest of grooves in that part of her brain that had thought about this day over and over and over again.
Yet, on the day. At the exact moment. After all the years of careful planning. She did not take action on that plan. And when she should have felt disappointment, instead she felt freedom.
