On the east south east-ish of our house lives a growing, not entirely peaceful community. Of birds. Rock Martins and Lesser African swallows. It's a pair of the latter that have hijacked a nest that a pair of Martins built last summer. There has been much squabbling which has now settled as the swallows add to their adopted home.
This was roughly a week into the process. Having watched the process before, it does take a while. That was about w weeks ago.
Oh, and that nest is just above the office window. I love hearing them trill, tweet and call as they perch on the aloe outside.
The sawallows have, at last, mostly finished their nest. In about four days and after Wednesday's rain that provided a great mud source.
If you look closely, you can see how much they build in a day. Each day's work is a different colour.
Back to business: one weekend only
It's a long time since these have been put to use. After about 18 months, there is a Sunday Supper ahead @ The Sandbag House.
I was concerned I had forgotten. Seems not. Marvellous baby Malva puddings safely stashed for Sunday.
More prep after the marker later.
In the jar this week
In the jar this week: a Moroccan lentil salad. It has wonderful warm flavours of cumin, cinnamon and clove, combined with the freshness of celery, mint, parsley and coriander. All but the last, from the garden.
It's really busy in RL at the moment, so forgive my lack of engagement. It's a mixed blessing and I am sure things will settle into a rhythm soon.
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

- I am participating in the twice-yearly initiative to post a blog a day for a month on the Hive blockchain.
- I also share my
occasionalInstagram posts to the crypto blockchain, Hive, using the new, and really nifty phone app, Dapplr. On your phone, click here or on the icon, and give it a go.
