National Beer Day - need I say more?
... I thought that would make a perfect pairing with some Throwback Thursday photos of me toasting with family and friends over the years. While I'm not particularly fond of posting selfies, I am fond of getting out of my comfort zone during #HiveBloPoMo and decided I'd grab some old pictures from Fxcebook and share them here.
The first one that came to mind was a shot from the summer of 2012, when I drove a few hours north to visit a longtime friend from our homeschooling days (which were still going on back in 2012...lol). There's a photo of her, another friend of ours, and myself toasting with pints of Guinness after our dinner at an awesome Irish restaurant in Northern New Hampshire.
I spent waaaaay too much time looking for it, and it's no where to be found.
Same with the photo of the writers' group I used to host (under the umbrella of The New Hampshire Writers' Project) where I'm toasting with Guinness in a Budweiser glass (yes, I complained to the waitress...lol).
In fact, the only one I found in a long forgotten folder was this from my Rooster Teeth days back around 2005. I vaguely remember something about all the Journal Whores (long story for another day) were all toasting each other for Valentine's Day, and again despite my dislike for selfies, I felt bad not participating. Which led to this...
However, I thought one beer toast fell a bit short, and struggled to come up with something else. Then I happened across the FB folder where I shared some shots of a toga party we had back in my UNH university days...
So here are a handful of shots taken in the Hunter dorm room of the University of New Hampshire round about 1984-85ish. All were taken with my old school Nikon at the time, and a friend took the shot of me (which, if I recall, I didn't find until I developed the film...lol). And yes, I can promise that copious amounts of beer were consumed. 🍻

Can't for the life of me remember the name of the guy on the left, but that's my friend MaryBeth in a sweatshirt instead of a toga, who is holding my teddy bear Pookie (as you can see in the other photos, also wearing a pillowcase toga), our buddy Benny, and Mary on the far right (who opted also opted for a sweatshirt).
