On September 30, exactly half a year has passed since my youngest daughter Darina and I opened the swimming season at Cleopatra Beach in Alanya. This is the longest swimming season of my life during my #TheLongestTrip.
During this time I visited five different seas in different countries. I swam in the mountain canyons of Turkey and Greece, on the best beaches of Italy, on islands and peninsulas, in bays of breathtaking beauty...
Today is my #saturdaymemories initiative.
I usually write in this community memories about my life in Ukraine, but today I wanted to remember all the seas and reservoirs that I visited during these six months.
Our beloved Mediterranean Sea is our first love! We started swimming at Cleopatra beach, which has wonderful golden sand and there is a beautiful legend that this sand was brought for the queen from the Nile valleys...
It was also an extremely beautiful bay near the mountain and green algae that form unique patterns on the stones in the sea.
But then we lived in Kemer and visited many historical and fascinating places around, which I will write about later... Kemer's Mediterranean Sea is very warm and gentle. I never saw a big storm there and it was so good to lie on the hot pebbles. I liked to walk a little further along the shore and find quiet places where the familiar plant of sand cumin grew, which I collected for tea, as a memory of my steppe Ukraine...
While living there, we once discovered a fascinating place among the mountains, where giant rocks were kind and mysterious giants, and the water was turbulent but warm, and trout swam in it. And we took natural jacuzzi baths...
Later, we got to know the Aegean Sea in Cesme, and from there we took a ferry to the island of Chios, where we spent an unforgettable week in the midst of wild nature...
The Aegean Sea is often stormy and strong winds roam over it!
A few weeks later, we received an unexpected gift of fate and got to Kiaton, where we spent two weeks on the shores of the Ionian Sea!. It was a very relaxing vacation in a wonderful house right on the seafront, where I spent a lot of time on the beach and walking on the shore, enjoying swimming and the incredibly beautiful color of the turquoise water and the smell of seaweed.
And then there was Croatia, Dubrovnik. ThereI got to know the Adriatic Sea.
Rocky bottom and deep emerald water.
Exciting swimming near the wall of the ancient castle and between the rocks, looking at exotic fish.
And a pleasant find on the coast in Montenegro, the town of Bar - a cozy bay with pine trees above the sea.
While exploring Italy, we found another new sea that was calm and gentle. After spending a week on the Tyrrhenian Sea, we enjoyed its blue water and the soft song of the waves dancing gracefully on the sandy bottom!
And especially beautiful waves in the sunset light...
I continue to explore the sea shores…
And my soul is filled with fond memories... You too can share the best moments of your past life with us in the #SaturdayMemories community
Our #TheLongestTrip continues and I thank everyone who reads about our adventures ❤️
