Looking back and remembering the good things about childhood is like taking a sweet and fun trip down memory lane. For some, it will be a journey far back in time, as in my case, and for others, a more recent one, for the younger ones.
Volver al pasado y recordar las buenas cosas de la niñez es como hacer un dulce y divertido viaje en el tiempo. Para algunos será un viaje muy largo en el tiempo como en mi caso y para otros un viaje más cercano, para los más jóvenes.

Parte de la niñez, creo que, para la mayoría de la gente, esta ocupada por los dibujos animados, en algunos lugares llamados comiquitas. Se trata de esos dibujos que podían ser en 2D o 3D los más modernos y que nos divertían de niños. Incluso había canales de televisión dedicados plenamente a ellos. Esos dibujos simples que nos hacían reír a carcajadas y en muchos de ellos ni siquiera había palabras, no había lenguaje, era universal.
Me refiero a esos programas de televisión que mirábamos cuando teníamos cinco años por ejemplo y nos mantenían absortos en la pantalla, llenos de vivos colores y cuyos personajes hacían cosas disparatas, otros eran muy inteligentes e incluso algunos ni siquiera eran humanos, se trataban de robots, por ejemplo.
En el tema de este mes, los invito a traer del recuerdo esos dibujos animados que miraban en la niñez, traerlos mediante algún video que encuentren en internet, aunque sé que es dificil haya canales oficiales al respeto, pero traerlos y hacer un post comentando esos dibujos que miraban cuando eran niños, que les divertía, a que edad los miraban, cuáles eran sus personajes favoritos y todo lo que tenga relación con los mismos. Tal vez alguna anécdota graciosa.
Aquí en Hive hay gente de todas las edades por lo que seguramente hay una variedad increíble de este tipo de videos que se pueden traer y hacer una hermosa y divertida reseña de ellos.
Les cuento que cuando era niña, no tenía televisión por cable, es decir pago, y veía sólo dos canales de televisión que había en mi ciudad. Pero a pesar de haber sólo dos canales ellos contenían algunos programas con dibujos animados y en ese momento era una niña, no sabía si había más o menos dibujos. Me divertía con lo que había. Además, siempre tuve mucha imaginación por lo que todos me resultaban muy graciosos, por más simples que fueran.
Hoy les traigo dos de mis personajes favoritos, jamás me cansaré de ver sus episodios, son una genialidad y creo que ambos tienen mucho en común. Por supuesto que tengo muchos otros dibujos animados que recuerdo y que veía, pero estos son mis favoritos.
I think that, for most people, a big part of childhood is taken up by cartoons, sometimes called ‘comic strips’ in some places. These are the cartoons, whether 2D or, in the more modern ones, 3D, that entertained us as children. There were even television channels devoted entirely to them. Those simple cartoons that made us laugh out loud; in many of them there weren’t even any words, no language, they were universal.
I’m talking about those TV programmes we used to watch when we were five years old, for example, which kept us glued to the screen, full of bright colours, with characters doing crazy things; others were very clever, and some weren’t even human, they were robots, for instance.
For this month’s topic, I invite you to recall those cartoons you watched as a child, perhaps by sharing a video you find online, although I know it’s difficult to find official channels for them, and to write a post commenting on the cartoons you watched as a child, what you found amusing, at what age you watched them, who your favourite characters were, and anything else related to them. Perhaps a funny anecdote.
Here on Hive there are people of all ages, so there’s bound to be an incredible variety of these kinds of videos that you can share and write a lovely, entertaining review of them.
I’ll tell you that when I was a child, I didn’t have cable TV, that is, a paid subscription, and I could only watch the two channels available in my town. But even though there were only two channels, they did show some cartoon programmes, and back then I was just a little girl; I didn’t know if there were more or fewer cartoons out there. I was happy with what was on. What’s more, I’ve always had a vivid imagination, so I found them all very funny, however simple they were.
Today I’m bringing you two of my favourite characters; I’ll never tire of watching their episodes. They’re brilliant, and I think they both have a lot in common. Of course, there are many other cartoons I remember watching, but these are my favourites.

El primer personaje es la pantera rosa. Quien no conoce a la pantera rosa. Pero me gustaban y me siguen gustando los episodios más antiguos, donde no hablaba y todo el programa era con sonidos onomatopéyicos. Esto hacía que pudiera dirigirse a cualquier público de cualquier país. Luego la pantera rosa se modernizó y la podía escuchar y en español latino, pero yo seguía prefiriendo la pantera que no hablaba, era mucho más graciosa.
Es un personaje del cual me atrae su tranquilidad al caminar, su inteligencia, aunque muchas veces las cosas le salen mal, pero también su fascinación por el color rosa como uno de los capítulos que les traigo donde le hace la vida imposible al otro personaje con tal de que las flores sean rosas y no amarillas.
El segundo episodio que les traigo de ella, es otro de mis favoritos, donde encuentra una varita mágica de una bruja y ayuda a una mujer a encontrar a su príncipe, convirtiéndola en princesa tal cual el cuento de La Cenicienta. Al final convierte a la bruja en su alma gemela y todo sale muy bien.
Por supuesto, sólo les trigo dos ejemplos, pero todos sus episodios me fascinan. ¿Será por eso que mi color favorito es el rosa? ¿Qué opinan?
The first character is the Pink Panther. Who doesn’t know the Pink Panther? But I liked, and still like, the older episodes, where he didn’t speak and the whole programme was made up of onomatopoeic sounds. This meant it could appeal to any audience in any country. Later, the Pink Panther was modernised and you could hear him speak in Latin American Spanish, but I still preferred the panther who didn’t speak; he was much funnier.
It’s a character whose calm demeanour when walking and intelligence appeal to me, even though things often go wrong for her; but also her fascination with the colour pink, as in one of the episodes I’m sharing with you where she makes life impossible for the other character just so the flowers are pink and not yellow.
The second episode I’m sharing with you is another of my favourites, where she finds a witch’s magic wand and helps a woman find her prince, turning her into a princess just like in the story of Cinderella. In the end, she turns the witch into her soulmate and everything turns out wonderfully.
Of course, I’m only giving you two examples, but I love all her episodes. Could that be why my favourite colour is pink? What do you think?

El segundo personaje favorito o el segundo dibujo animado que más me gustaba era El correcaminos, pero el personaje favorito era y es el coyote. Un personaje que intenta dar caza al correcaminos con los medios más extraños, pero siempre todo le sale mal, nunca lo logra.
Les traigo dos compilados de este dibujo animado ya que los episodios son muy pero muy cortos. Se trata también de un dibujo donde no se habla, solo hay sonidos y me encanta, despierta mucho la imaginación y los sonidos, al menos para mí, son más graciosos que si los personajes hablaran.
Siento fascinación por el coyote, quiere algo, va por un objetivo y busca los medios hasta imposibles por lograrlo. No lo logra, pero nunca se da por vencido. Creo que por eso me gusta tanto el personaje, tiene una voluntad de hierro, insiste, es perseverante y busca los medios. El correcaminos lo único que hace es correr y correr, pero el coyote agudiza el ingenio una y otra vez. Si, definitivamente me gusta por eso, esfuerzo y constancia. Me parezco a él.
Además, es muy gracioso, todo lo que inventa como una vía de tren donde no existe al final se hace real y el tren lo atropella, cosas muy descabelladas y divertidas. ¿Qué opinan de este personaje?
My second favourite character, or the second cartoon I liked best, was the Road Runner, but my favourite character was, and still is, the Coyote. A character who tries to catch the Road Runner using the strangest methods, but everything always goes wrong for him; he never manages it.
I’ve put together two compilations of this cartoon for you, as the episodes are very, very short. It’s also a cartoon where there’s no speaking; there are only sounds, and I love it, it really fires the imagination, and the sounds, at least for me, are funnier than if the characters were speaking.
I’m fascinated by the coyote; he wants something, he goes after a goal and seeks out even impossible means to achieve it. He doesn’t succeed, but he never gives up. I think that’s why I like the character so much; he has an iron will, he persists, he’s persevering and he seeks out ways to achieve his goal. The Road Runner just runs and runs, but the coyote sharpens his wits time and time again. Yes, that’s definitely why I like him – his effort and perseverance. I’m a bit like him.
Plus, he’s very funny; everything he invents, like a railway track where there isn’t one, ends up becoming real and the train runs him over. It’s all very far-fetched and amusing. What do you think of this character?
