Hello everyone! How are you? Today I'd like to show you a channel I've been totally hooked on lately. It's Natalia Ramírez's YouTube channel. "And who is she?" many of you might be wondering. Well, let me tell you, she's an actress, and if you ever watched the famous telenovela "Yo soy Bethy, la Fea" (Ugly Betty), you'll recognize her better as "Marcela Valencia." So, all of us who were or still are fans of this telenovela can find lots of great anecdotes on this channel that came up during filming. But the best part is that these are firsthand accounts, told by someone who was on set—Natalia herself. Things like bloopers, last-minute decisions, last-minute line changes, or she simply explains how a particular scene was filmed.
¡Hola Hola, gente de Internet! ¿Cómo están? Hoy me gustaría mostrarles un canal al cual estoy super enganchada últimamente. Es el canal de youtube de Natalia Ramírez ¿Y quién es ella? se preguntarán muchos de ustedes, pues déjenme decirles que ella es una actriz, y si alguna vez ustedes vieron la famosa telenovela "Yo soy Bethy, la Fea" podrán reconocerla mejor como "Marcela Valencia" así que todos los que fuimos o aún somos fans de esta telenovela podemos encontrar en este canal muchas anécdotas muy buenas que surgieron durante el rodaje, pero lo mejor de todo es que están son anécdotas de primera mano, contadas por alguien que estuvo en el set, es decir, Natalia, cosas como bloopers, decisiones de última hora, cambios de frases a último minuto o simplemente explica como se filmó determinada escena.
There's one video in particular that I really like because in it she talks about a scene that was incredibly difficult for her to film. It's a conversation with Patricia Fernández (her best friend in the telenovela) where she explains that she'll have to cover the wedding expenses with Armando (her fiancé) because, traditionally, the bride's father should pay for the party, including the wedding dress, but in her case, both of them were deceased. However, the actress felt it would be fairer for the expenses to be shared. Besides, Armando Mendoza wasn't at all interested in the wedding; that much was obvious, haha 😄 So yes, obviously, it's sometimes quite a challenge for an actor or actress to portray a character whose decisions, way of thinking, and actions they disagree with. It's quite a conflict.
Hay un video en particular que me gusta mucho porque allí ella cuenta que que hay una escena que a ella le costó muchísimo rodar, y es una donde tiene una conversación con Patricia Fernández (su mejor amiga en la telenovela) y allí ella le cuenta que tendrá que correr con los gastos de la boda con Armando (su prometido) ya que por tradición los gastos de la fiesta, incluido el vestido de novia, debían correr por la cuenta del padre de la novia, pero en su caso ambos estaban muertos, sin embargo la actriz pensaba que lo más justo sería que los gastos fuesen compartidos, además, Armando Mendoza no estaba para nada interesado en esa boda, eso era más que evidente jaja 😄 así que sí, obviamente a veces es todo un reto para algún actor o actriz interpretar un personaje con el cuál no está de acuerdo en sus decisiones o forma de pensar y de proceder, es todo un conflicto allí.
The channel generally has a lot of information about the filming, the characters, and how each character was developed. The actress also mentions interesting facts about Fernando Gaitán, the writer of the telenovela, and what caught my attention the most was learning that by the middle of filming, there was so much pressure on the cast, director, technical crew, and especially the writer himself that he would give them the script just one day in advance, and sometimes even on the day of filming. And despite the last-minute work and the pressure, it was such a well-executed production that it earned a place in the Guinness World Records as the highest-rated telenovela in television history, dethroning Kassandra (a Venezuelan telenovela).
En canal en general tiene mucha información acerca de los rodajes, de los personajes, de como fue el proceso de construcción de cada personaje. También la actriz menciona datos interesantes sobre Fernando Gaitán, quién fue el escritor de la telenovela, y lo que me llamó más la atención es el hecho de saber que ya para mitad de la grabación había tanta presión sobre los hombros del elenco, director, equipo técnico y en especial del propio escritor que él les entregaba el guion con un día de anticipación y en otras ocasiones hasta el mismo día de la filmación. Y a pesar de los trabajos de última hora y la presión fue un trabajo tan bien logrado que llegó a ganarse un puesto en los premios Guinnes como la telenovela con mayor rating en la historia de la televisión, destronando a Kassandra (Telenovela venezolana)
