Continuing with this month's theme of crafts, I want to share a channel I recently discovered, so I don't know much about it yet. However, the videos I've been watching seem like great options for decorating our homes and even making some fully functional items. The best part is that they mostly use recycled materials, which serves a dual purpose: decorating your home and giving a second life to objects that would otherwise end up in the trash and, consequently, floating in the ocean, polluting the environment. If I'm not mistaken, the voices in the videos are generated by artificial intelligence, but this doesn't detract from the quality of the content.
Siguiendo con el tema de este mes, de manualidades, en esta ocasión quiero mostrarles un canal que encontré recientemente, así que no sé mucho sobre él, pero los videos que he estado viendo me parecen opciones muy buenas para adornar nuestra casa e incluso hacer algunas cosas totalmente funcionales, pero lo mejor es que los materiales que utilizan en su mayoría son cosas reciclables, con lo cuál se cumple una doble función: por un lado se adorna la casa y por el otro le estás dando una segunda oportunidad a un objeto que de lo contrario terminaría en la basura y por ende en el mar, flotando, contaminando el ambiente. Si no estoy mal, la voz que tiene los videos es generada por inteligencia artificial, pero de todos modos esto no desmejora la calidad del contenido.
The channel is called GuryGuay. The person behind the videos doesn't seem to want to appear on camera because I've never seen them, but this doesn't affect the quality of the videos; it just suggests they might be a shy person. I really like the way they explain everything step by step. You can tell they enjoy crafting and making the most of every material they have. They even give functionality to objects that are usually single-use or that we all overlook. These kinds of videos are relaxing and comforting at the same time because you really enjoy the transformation process and the final result. Furthermore, these videos are encouraging because they show us that you don't need a lot of money or skills to have quality things in your home; you just need ingenuity, creativity, or the opportunity to find inspiration and detailed explanations like these.
El canal se llama GuryGuay, la persona detrás de los videos parece no querer aparecer en cámara porque nunca la he visto, pero esto no hace afecta la calidad de los videos, tan solo nos indica que podría tratarse de una persona tímida. Pero me gusta mucho la manera en que explica todo paso a paso, se nota que disfruta mucho hacer artesanías y aprovechar cada material con el que cuenta, incluso le otorga funcionabilidad a objetos que normalmente son de un solo uso o que todos pasamos desapercibidos. Este tipo de videos de alguna maneta me resultan relajantes, y también reconfortantes al mismo tiempo porque uno disfruta mucho el proceso de transformación y el resultado final. Además estos videos son alentadores porque nos demuestran que no se necesita demasiado dinero o habilidades para tener cosas de calidad en nuestra casa, solo falta tener ingenio, creatividad o la oportunidad de encontrar inspiración y explicaciones tan detalladas como estas.
For example, in this video, the woman is making a vase for the home, and anyone who saw the final result would never guess it was a plastic bleach bottle. She washed it thoroughly, then cut off the top and proceeded to make some holes using a soldering iron. However, I think someone without this tool could manage using a hot nail or something similar (of course, you'd have to hold the nail with pliers). But then the whole process really takes shape when she starts wrapping the entire bottle with a rope that here in Venezuela we call "mecate" or "mecatillo," since it's thinner than regular mecate (I don't know what it's called in other countries). But I think this gives it an extra touch of originality and rustic style. Oh! And something I have to mention that I liked about the video is that the woman in question makes a mistake when wrapping the container (apparently she was supposed to leave a space uncovered), but this allows her to explain the solution in case that happens. It's always good to know how to resolve these situations if they arise when doing projects.
Por ejemplo en este video la mujer está haciendo un jarrón para el hogar, y cualquiera que haya visto el resultado final jamás diría que se trataba de un envase plástico de cloro, ella lo lavó muy bien, después le cortó la parte superior y después procedió a abrirle algunos agujeros usando una máquina de esas para soldar con estaño, sin embargo yo pienso que quien no tenga esta herramienta podría ingeniárselas usando algún clavo caliente o algo así (por supuesto habría que sostener el clavo con algún alicate) Pero luego todo el proceso va tomando más forma cuando ella comienza a forrar todo el envase con una cuerda que aquí en Venezuela llamamos "Mecate" o "Mecatillo" ya que es más delgada que el Mecate (no sé como lo llamen en otros paises) pero yo creo que esto le da un toque adicional de originalidad y estilo rústico. ¡Ah! y algo que tengo que mencionar que me gustó del video, es que la mujer en cuestión comete un error al forrar el envase (al parecer tenía que dejar un espacio sin cubrir) pero esto sirve para que ella misma nos explique la solución en caso de que eso suceda, siempre viene bien saber como resolver estas situaciones si se presentan a la hora de hacer los proyectos
