Well today is the day! Gamer Zone is officially launched.
I am actually feeling a bit sick today but I still wanted to get this community launched because it is important to me. I believe it took me about 1 day longer than I said to get this post done so sorry for the delay there!

So what is "Gamer Zone?" Gamer Zone is a community of gamers for gamers. We strive to post high quality posts about high quality games.
"High quality" is subjective but I would rather set the bar high so if we fall short, we still have achieved success as a community.
Community Rules:
- No Web 3.0 games.
- No Mobile games.
- No F2P games.
- You must request access in the comments of this post to be a blog poster.
Q&A
Q. What do I mean by Web 3.0 games?
A. Web 3.0 games are anything that is play to earn, play to own, crypto/blockchain, or NFT games.
Q. What do I mean by Mobile games?
A. Mobile games are going to be games like Pokemon Go, PUBG Mobile, Candy Crush, Fortnite, etc.
Q. Why do I say no F2P games.
A. 99% of F2P games I would consider low quality or at least not interesting to read about imo. I honestly can't think of a F2P that is going to be ok to post so this is just a hard no for now. I might change my mind later. TBD.
Q. What about games that are both F2P and have a P2P component?
A. If you pay to play World of Warcraft and have something cool you want to post about that is encouraged. If you are playing Runescape for free then I would say no on Runescape.
Even if you do not have the resources to pay for video games, you can still participate in the community through comments.
People who are whitelisted as authors will be getting curated by me so they will also need to be "good" stakeholder (based on my critera) to post as an author in this community. I say they need to be a "good" stakeholder because I mostly only curate "good" stakeholders. (I upvote burn posts, HBD Comments, and Snaps sometimes but those are exceptions). I am going to do a separate post in the future about what I think is a "good" stakeholder.
Also, there is an unspoken rule on Hive that people are not supposed to post more than once every 24 hours. I do not post daily so I thought breaking this rule to launch a new community was ok. 🤷♂
Please use the comments of this post to ask me questions and make a case for other rules you think we should have. If you think these rules are too strict and you want to give feedback in that regard that is encouraged.
Longterm I would like to see different kinds of posts in here. Like if we could get some people using 3speak and writing a blog post to go with their video that would be cool. That being said, some content is not worth streaming and better in blog post form so I will leave that up to the author if they want to use 3speak.
Hopefully this community can be something fun that will make 2026 a little more positive. Ideally we create content that people want to engage with.
Cheers,
Hurt
