ABC Mint New Series : Untamed Landscapes

This new series of 1 oz Silver Coins will be the first Legal Tender Coins produced by the ABC Mint. Interestingly, while the company itself is Australian the coins are stamped as being 5 New Zealand dollars and they reference Tokelau – which is a New Zealand territory in the Pacific Ocean. There are a number of coins which have come out of Tokelau of late so I can only assume this is a kind of collaboration between 2 mints Down Under.

The plan is for the ABC Mint to release the 5 coins of the Untamed Landscapes series over the next couple of years with the first being available now in August 2024. The release schedule is as follows :-

The Mintage of these coins is limited though on Goldstackers it says 175K while the brochure says it’ll be 50K. Bit of a red flag there if you care about the scarcity of your semi-numismatics. If you’re just a regular collector / stacker then these do look like nice designs with a very Oceanic feel to them.

The premium doesn’t look too severe. At time of me writing this the first release of coins are available at about 21% over spot, which is not outrageous for semi-numismatics of this type.
