After pulling the SGS Splinterlands Cards off the Rental Market at the start of the current season and then waiting for the Cooldown to expire I’ve now set up the cards on the account to play with the Automated Splinterlands Service Xbot. It’s been running now for about 16 hours or so and xbot has already powered the account up into the Silver League ranks.
The first thing I want to see is where the account starts to stabilize in Rating and that already looks like it might be happening close to the 1600 mark – which would put it in the Silver I sub-tier. It is still fairly early in the season but this is probably the range where I would have expected it to settle as the playing deck had originally been optimized for Silver League. While the meta-game has evolved since the cards were last played and a few cards have been sold to cover expenses, it’s still a very playable card set at this level.
I am running it in Wild Ranked for 2 reasons – The first is that the Summoner Set are all Beta Edition so they aren’t playable in Modern Ranked. The second is that bots are being banned in Modern Ranked imminently so if botting these cards is viable longer term then it’ll need to be in Wild Ranked. If you’re interested to see how it’s going you can see the Ratings plateau in the chart below. It’s levelled off a bit but I expect it will continue to creep up slowly as the season progresses and settle comfortably in Silver I (which starts at 1600).
I’ve Delegated 16,000 SPS of my personal holdings to the account to try to maximize the new Boost for Rewards feature. At the moment it is showing a Boost of x10.96 with a base Rate of 4,168 per win. I have been trying to figure out how the SPS Staking Boost works optimally and will probably raise that SPS Delegation as the season wears on if the Boost Rate drops too much. I think it’s worth trying to keep that Boost Rate around x12 to x13 so if we do go this way longer term we’ll need to lease some SPS on a more permanent basis. For now, this is all just a test and I am satisfying my curiosity.
The Xbot trial only goes for 7 days so while it might earn some rewards this season there will be another 4 days before the season ends (after the trial expires) so I’ll need to figure out what to do then. I might switch it over to Archmage for those 4 days so that we can get closer to a full season to compare against the Rental earnings of last season. By doing this we will also kill 2 birds with one stone and get a good performance comparison between the 2 main Splinterlands bots in the process.
