Rumors of an ultra-low 2025 mintage of the already scarce Mexican Libertad Coin Series is causing some excitement, if not panic, FOMO, for collectors. In 1982, the Mexican Silver Libertad was one of the first Bullion Coins (.999). The USA followed in 1986 with the American Silver Eagle. The Canadian Maple Leaf improved the Silver Bullion idea with a 99.99% pure Silver coin (.9999) in 1988. Libertads already carry a hefty premium, compared to most other Sovereign Bullion coins. The average Silver Libertad has a final mintage number of under one million, ranging from 67,000 to 2,458,000. Early reports were that there would be no 2025s. Later reports were that only 300 one-ounce Libertads were minted, but not released yet. The Gold Libertad mintage number is zero today. Good luck to anyone who ordered early.
