Hi Stackers,
As a good client of the Dutch Mint I always get the catalogus for the coming year and I will show you below this years Catalogue. The cover already looks pretty and very Dutchie.
Inside you can see that the official restrikes are so popular that more and more are issued, like the Shipschilling, The Lion dollar, the Dukaton, the 'normal'ducats and what have you.
But the funniest one is this one. A copy of a little plate that owners of a bicycle had to put on their bicycle-frame to proove they had paid the BicycleTAX or in Dutch RWB Rij Wiel Belasting (Drive Wheel Tax)
In medieval times houses were taxed by the number of windows after which many houseowners bricked some of the windows. In the 1900's taxes were imposed on bicycles (luxury!) and streetlights. In my youth we paid taxes for Broadcasting. All these amounts were cash collected by civil workers until bankaccoutns took over. Colelctors had a really dangereous job! ;)
What I will buy in 2024 I am not sure yet. In june my pension payments starts so cash-in will be considerable again, so room for buying and consuming.
For now I say goodbye again
