I ended up picking up another Pamp Suisse Lady Fortuna, but this time I went for the tiniest version they make — the 1‑gram gold bar.
It’s funny because this all started with the 1 oz silver Lady Fortuna bar I bought in Hawaii during one of my trips. I wasn’t hunting for bullion or anything; I just walked into a shop, saw it, and thought, “Well… that looks cool.” Next thing I knew, I owned it.
What’s wild is how hard these things are to get now. The exact silver bar I bought back then is completely out of stock at APMEX, and the prices today are nowhere near what I paid. That’s the thing with precious metals: one day they’re everywhere, the next day you’re refreshing websites hoping something pops back in stock.
So when I saw the tiny 1‑gram gold version available, I didn’t even think twice. It’s small, sure, but it’s one of those pieces that feels special just because of the design and the story behind it.
Lady Fortuna herself is a cool part of the appeal. She’s the ancient Roman goddess of fortune... literally the symbol of luck and prosperity. On the bar, she’s shown with a cornucopia spilling out riches into her hands. Even on the tiny bar, the detail is impressive.
That level of detail is what PAMP is known for. They’ve been around since 1977 in Switzerland, and they’ve built a reputation for turning bullion into actual artwork. It’s why people collect their pieces even when they’re as small as a gram.
So yeah, I finally got my tiny Lady Fortuna. Small bar, big personality.
