Silver gaming tokens? Yes—some are silver, others are not—but each one has its own charm. I’m sharing the few that I own today.
This is for , a good friend and someone I often trade thoughts with about collectibles and the blockchain world.
These gaming tokens are from the Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas: Treasure Island Pirate Ship, Parrot, Skull and Crossed Swords.
One of the most recognized sights on the Las Vegas Strip is the Treasure Island Pirate Ship.
The details on the ship depicted on the token are incredible 👆!
This $10 Gaming Token carries the logo of Treasure Island. It is the stylized "T" and "I" for Treasure Island, and crossed swords. The other side of the gaming token is a Parrot wearing a pirate's hat. I think it's cute that the parrot depicted has a hat with details of a skull. It has a peg leg too!
This next one is NOT silver. It is made of brass. The front and back of the token carry the same design. I got this because of the **Skull and Crossed Swords** design. It has the typical pirate insignia: a skull and crossed swords. The skull has a bandana and an eye patch!
The next tokens are precious (to me) because of the design. I like the token very much. After all, I am a "prospector" too, lol! Depicted is the American Prospector.
It is a token named Sam's Town and has the image of Samuel A. Boyd on the reverse. He was an American businessman, casino manager, and developer, and supposedly had developed one of the biggest and most prosperous casino empires in the world.
Lastly, the Sunken Treasure commemorative token from Princess Cruises. Most cruise ships have a casino.
I was drawn to it for its design... the mermaid imagery, which I’ve always loved.
It has a .999 silver HSP center.
HSP stands for Hallmark Silver Proof, which is a designation given to some silver tokens that have a high quality of minting and a mirror-like finish. The Sunken Treasure token is one of the commemorative gaming tokens from the Luxury Cruise series, which features a sunken ship and a mermaid guarding her sunken treasure. The token has a bimetallic composition, with a silver (.999) center in a copper ring, and weighs 28 grams. It is a rare and collectible item that was issued in limited numbers.
