Geronimo is the third track I composed for my “Moods and modes” project. It features a hammond organ improvising on a blues scale with the backing of a classic rock rhythm section.
"Moods and Modes" is the project I started in 2018 in a short period of forced stop due to a convalescence (that rekindled my love for creating music after a 25 year long hiatus).
It's a collection of short instrumental tracks (not more than 2 minutes long), each one inspired by the mood of a different musical scale or mode.
After exploring the major pentatonic scale with For The Joy and the minor pentatonic with Sail Away, I turned my attention to the blues scale (a minor pentatonic with a "blue" note added, more info here).
In this first exploration of the blues scale, I played it with a straight, rock rhythm. Have a listen below and enjoy!
The project is active and documented in my website and the first result was an EP fancifully named "Mood and Modes vol. I" that you can download from Bandcamp for the price you want (even for free).
