It rained pretty much all day yesterday which worked out well for me since I needed a down day to study for my exam and to rest my foot. The rain really hit mid day and in the end we got .24 inches, a small dent in what we need.
The morning soak had the beginnings of the rain hit and the clouds were dark and heavy.
There are 2 websites and 2 apps that I have used to study for the technician exam.
The apps:
The first one I downloaded and the primary one I have used is HamRadioExam Technician available on the playstore. I have taken well over a hundred practice tests and at least half of them in this app. It is only for the technician level but is current. I passed every practice test I took in the app.
The second is Hamtrainer available on F-Droid and the one I will be using to study for the General class. I actually like it the best since it has the current question pools for all 3 classes. I spent a lot of time in the app as well over the past months. After I pass my exam I will be sending a donation to the dev for the app, it is just too good not to, and the ltc fees are nice and low.
The sites:
The primary website I have had open in a tab for weeks is HamExam.org which also has all 3 current class question pools. The flash cards are kinda nifty but the practice exams are mainly what I did. Each question has a link to further info in one of the study guides available online.
While not my favorite I still have taken a number of practice exams on hamstudy.org. I found that by using the 2 apps and the 2 websites I was able to get a really well rounded draw of the question pool overall and should have seen every question many times over.
All day long I was parked in my chair or on the couch with my foot raised and alternating ice applications. We soaked in the morning, I iced off and on all day, kept it elevated, and then we soaked in the evening where I kept my foot elevated. I had to get out a bit early to go shower and when I was getting ready to get in I looked down at my foot and saw that the skin had split on the hemotoma. I peeled some skin then was able to pop the top and drain a bunch of ick from my foot. I think all the hot/cold helped to bring it to the surface. It hurt like hell but it feels much better with it drained. It has a hole where I can still drain it as I need.
Today we go to Sandpoint for my exam at the library. and the boys will wander the library for the little while I am in the exam then we will spend the day in Sandpoint hitting up breweries, restaurants, and shops with a walk along city beach. It looks like we get a break in the weather for the day as well so it hopefully will turn out nice.
