Hello friends,
All week long we had rain pouring down almost non stop. At least for two days it was non stop and then another two or three days it was coming and going. Kids almost swam to school. Water was reaching up to people’s knees.
Thankfully since yesterday the weather is getting calmer and even sun came out. So we decided to go to the beach. When we got there, kids were a bit cranky, not wanting to do much, but we saw some kids we knew. Those kids they are always into some adventures. They had a little fishing net, maybe kid size, and a few buckets of water. I was surprised to see a few fish in their bucket. So my kids asked if they could join the crew :-)
Those kids were so nice they gave my daughter a few baby crabs that she put in her bucket of ocean water. It’s really interesting to watch little crabs to swim.
My daughter asked them how do they catch baby crabs and got a master-class:-) So they went to water and found spots with some seaweed, took the seaweed and shook it over their edge of the shirt. Apparently the baby crabs like to hang out in those seaweeds, so when they shake it, crabs fall on the shirt, and then kids put them in bucket.
Ok, that was our crab catching adventure. Let’s check out our fish.
I mentioned kids were catching fish, so the boy had some small net that he was using to catch small fish. They give fish to a fisherman to use as a bait.
My kids went to watch how he catches fish. They asked to try but the by said it’s too hard and decided not to share the net. We didn’t get upset or anything, it was still a great experience.
My kids shared some sweets with the boy and his sister, for letting them join. They asked for one little fish, those kids had two bigger fish, so they shared the small one.
After awhile my daughter decided to release little fish and baby crabs, because they wouldn’t survive at home without special aquarium equipment and anyway it’s better to buy them from a pet store rather than trying to keep wild ones.
It was a nice fishing experience for us and our kids. Even we, as adults learned that it’s so easy to catch animas from the ocean.
I hope you enjoyed the photos.
