Since I joined my first military unit many years ago I was given the advice to get me a tool called a Leatherman. Since that time there has always been one by my side on my belt, in my pocket, or within reach.
The Leatherman multi-tool has been one of the most handy tools I have ever owned. I advise any military man or outdoorsman to own one. It has helped me out on several occasions.
As you can see, the outside provides you a measuring reference. One side is in inches, the other in centimeters.
When you open them up they produce a pair of needle nose pliers with wire cutters. These were always handy for me in my younger years as a radio operator working with antenna cables, wires, and other electronics. They also came in handy for many other tasks while in the field. You will also find these pliers very useful around the home as well.
Within in arm of the plier is multiple tools that you can see in the image below. What tools it contains depends on the age and type of Leatherman you purchase.
This particular Leatherman I won now has a serated blade, a saw, a small knkife, crosstip screw driver, and bottle opener on one side. The other side has a larger knigfe small and large flat tip screw driver, another small blade, and a file.
So, if you are a military person, an avid outdoorsman, or just looking for something handy to keep around the house, I recommend the Leatherman multi-tool. Their multi-tools have saved me several headaches over the years. Even after I stopped working in the field and became a staff puke I continued to keep one handy and found it them to be useful at work, outdoors, and in the home.
Thanks,
Joe
