In 2023, the greatest threat to our survival as a species is going to be the normalcy bias that we've let ourselves return to as the general adaptation syndrome has moved through to the exhaustion phase.
Don't be a sheep
So many people have become sheep. They are in absolute denial about the reality of what the world is currently facing and I think that after Covid, they have geared themselves into survival mode where they are no longer looking to the future or what that could possibly look like and are simply shutting out any and all negative indicators that show that the current state of the world is certainly not positive.
We have never been this close to nuclear war before and while a lot of what is happening and being said may simply be sabre-rattling as a means of intimidation, I don't think it's worth overlooking as a real life potential scenario. The fact that countries around the world (mostly first world countries) are advertising how to deal with nuclear fallout on bus stops and train waiting areas, the fact that potassium iodide is being stockpiled by governments all lead me to believe that at least some of these places are taking the threat seriously.
In my opinion, refusing to entertain this threat and thinking that it will never come to pass is madness - the other issues we're facing that may happen first like global famine, civil wars, the rising cost of living, the push towards greener energy when the infrastructure doesn't exist to move to it are all puzzle pieces that are gearing us towards the largest calamity the world has ever seen and the rapid decent into chaos. I truly believe it is coming.
While I have not got endless preps going or stockpiles stashed away, mentally I'm far more prepared for the worst case scenario because I take notice of the emerging trends and yet, for most people I talk to, it's simply business as usual. They have no idea of what is happening worldwide, they don't take any interest in the global markets or the fact that the USDollar could be displaced as the world currency in the next decade as countries are grouping together as allies to stand against America.
Sheep will follow the herd and that herd is heading towards a sheer cliff face at the moment. When disaster strikes, whichever one it may be - they will be entirely caught off guard and it will lead to panic.
Don't panic
Panic is the enemy of preparing because when you are in a corisol induced panic, your mind simply doesn't work as well as it should. It leads to poor decision making and knee-jerk reactions. The human brain and nervous system have a high tolerance level for stress, but with us all having been in the lockdowns and just having come out of the Covid era, I think that people are so badly wanting things to return to normal that they would rather ignore the signs of what is to come. When SHTF and the panic sets in, people are going to lose their minds because there will be a point where they simply cannot ignore what is taking place any longer.
I choose to not be a sheep, even if the only thing I can currently do is prepare mentally, I still feel that it's a step above the rest of the people who are living in a normalcy bias induced haze. When they all get into their cars and start flooding the freeways to get the f*ck out of dodge, I'll be happy to raid their houses and bug in until the panic subsides.
How are you mentally preparing for the future? Do you keep your finger on the pulse with regards to the happenings of the world, how things are shifting and the fact that mainstream media is simply not reporting on global events or are you choosing to deal with the issues as they rear their heads? Let me know in the comments.
