I'm working on the basics today. And why not talk about them.
Oh yeah I'm giving away secrets. Please don't rat me out? I am begging Mr fake black belt too please not tell anybody.
And without further Ado I will be missed five the closely guarded secrets of this legendary martial arts.
Leo Giron. Well there is a lot that he did as well as being one of the contemporaries of so many high level martial artists of the time.
Some pretty amazing history with this lineage especially the connection with the Pacific theater and my family.
Well basically when we rewind back to the beginning of the Japanese expansion at the onset of world War II one of the first invasions that they initiated was to invade the Philippines. Mind you this is the same army that did the rape of Nanking and conditions were extremely brutal for everyone under Japanese occupational rules.
Yep that's right the Japanese were particularly brutal and grotesque to everyone.
Well I am just going to cite other Masters here. And I do believe I have posted Kirk McCune interviews on my blog a while back where he got to talk about the custom sword that was used to counter the Japanese katana.
Yep not that long ago there were actual sword fights.
Basically the fighting principle is that you have backup even if it is one or maybe possibly two people to help you out. You can block and the emphasis is upon the returning of an attack to your opponent.
Basically one good powerful cut immobilizing and disabling your opponent and while you are in the middle of attacking another person and engaging, the follow-up individuals work on dispatching and eliminating your initial targets.
Basically this is like a father and son or two brothers having to survive.
Footwork is very careful and extremely rooted because you cannot rely on the ground always being perfect.
The emphasis is on range timing articulation and angles. The main idea is especially when you are fighting somebody with blades to defend and return or just directly manage the situation. So the modules are set up to the building blocks upon each other aiding in the progression of your martial arts training.

Oops. I forgot since most martial arts are seen by the outside world as mystical and Cult like, maybe it's time to have a big look into the systems.
Bahalana.
Stockton multi-style
And Original Giron Escrima.
You have Kirk McCune. Amazing martial artist phenomenal practitioner.
Part one of an amazing interview.
*Part two
And the conclusion.
Basically this group and my group are very tight and pretty much do the exact same thing however just in different ways.
Stockton multi-style is another amazing part and with the addition of more information and training from serrada and other arts.
And of course!!!! OGE. This happens to be under Grandmaster Michael. The son of Grandmaster Leo Giron.
So a little history. Angel Cabales Serrada and Leo Giron and others knew eachother.
So Leo would be the leader of the local Filipino fraternal Lodge. Back in those days there was a lot of discrimination and issues so the Lodge was set up to support people.
While the lodge was open during the day it helped individuals by lending money to them which we will get to that point in a minute. As well as support food programs and cooking meals. These lodges were actually really important and actually is safe space for these immigrants who technically are American citizens because we have possession of the Philippine Islands as the United States territory.
After world War II these lodges were extremely important especially with the independence. As well as having such an important Ally that had fought with us.
The first and second Filipino regiments came during the cry to protect the Philippines and avenge The invasion by the Japanese at the onset of the conflict.
They actually didn't think it was going to be popular and it took quite a bit of harassment with the elected officials before the first Filipino regiment was raised and it quickly grew into two regiments because well it was extremely popular.
Grandmaster Leo had signed up and was sharing bladed art with his fellow soldiers which even to this day the United States military has a large bladed weapon in the inventory specifically because of an act of Congress allowing this to happen.
Wow it's age restricted! The documentary about the volunteers.
Leo Giron was then specially selected for the Alamo scout program.
While he was in the Philippines his Martial education really began a new forever changing what current generations have received.
Okay okay I will totally get on with it and I will post the original super secret knowledge.
So as you can see basically all this begins with three counters to the beginning angles 1 through 5.
These would be the fundamental building blocks of the entire martial arts system and not only does the fundamentals really show the depth of the system, but also the simplicity and design.
Easily interchangeable with weapon range so you can use a long sword or medium length stick short knife or hand-to-hand combat....
Highly versatile. Extremely effective and very brutal when you're talking about throwing a sharpened metal blade into another human being with ill intentions.
The three systems have fractured and focused on what they wanted to work with. We are all still directly related. The influences of quite a few amazing martial arts instructors have really brought this knowledge through several generations without being extinguished.
Thank you guys very much I hope you appreciate it. I will start doing a breakdown here pretty soon of each technique in module 1. Well you're in a little while anyway.
And maybe soon I can work out how to do martial arts lessons digitally with video chat.
Me and my puppy dog I hope that you have an amazing day and support your real martial arts instructors. Always remember if they cannot cite a real organization or even anyone? This is one of the main red flags.
Brazilian jiu jitsu has a list of accredited knowledgeable instructors. As well as every martial arts system that I've ever come across.
It is a matter of respect and honor for you to discuss your instructors and influences.
And trust me I've gotten quite a few instructors that I've worked with. Some of them good some of them self-appointed some of them struggled to find their way and some of them just were doing everything the wrong way with the wrong intentions.
My martial arts journey is a novel in of itself.
