Camping Trip @ Mittagong, NSW Australia

Hi All,

I have been enjoying reading posts on this HIVE group and getting ideas on how to improve my camping experience. I would love introduce myself, I am from Sydney, Australia and recently got into camping. I have been camping 5 times already and it looks like I will never check-in to a hotel again (well for a long time).

My cousin wanted to surprise his wife on her birthday weekend and take her on a camping trip, keep this in mind this is her first camping adventure, so this could go either way for him. Nevertheless he gave me the call 3 weeks before and without hesitating I said I will come. We went on to hipcamp HipCamp and booked our next camping adventure. We ended up going to Mittagong NSW 2575. The only facility that was on the camping site was a portaloo toilet.

To make this even more interesting we had 4 noobies on this trip so 6 people all up, technically the whole group is NEW to this. Did I mentioned NO running water and ONLY 1 portaloo toilet. We had 3 vehicles going on this camping trip, my Mazda 3 (noob from the get-go), my cousin's ute and his Kia Seltos (semi noob as its Four-wheel drive). On the way to the campsite my cousin in the ute had a very close encounter with a kangaroo, it hopped right infront of his ute and it injured its leg and tail as it hopped away 🙁

I have very basic gear for a beginner and looking to upgrade my swag soon as the Kings Swag and Mattress are not of a high quality, any ideas would be immensely grateful.
