A while ago I posted a suggestion to consider supporting one of the gun rights organizations so they can more effectively protect your right to own and use guns. It's no secret that gun rights are under assault right now and the more gun owners get involved in the preservation of 2nd amendment rights, the better.
It's not all gloom and doom though! One of my favorite gun rights organizations, the Firearms Policy Coalition, has just scored a major victory. In California of all places, which makes it all the more sweet. There's a link to the press release below. The gist of the judge's ruling is that California's banning of 'assault weapons' is unconstitutional. If this ruling holds, it could be a major victory not just for Californians but for gun owners in other places in the US that instituted unconstitutional bans as well.
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 4, 2021) — Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced that Judge Roger T. Benitez of the Southern District of California has issued an opinion in Miller v. Bonta (previously Miller v. Becerra), holding that California’s tyrannical ban on so-called “assault weapons” is unconstitutional under the Second Amendment. The opinion, along with other filings in this case, can be viewed at AssaultWeaponLawsuit.com.
Anyway, long story short, below are some links that explain better than I can who, how and what. If you like what you read, please consider donating to the FPC. Fighting the government, in this case the State of California, isn't cheap. They can use all the help they can get.
