Today, I want to share something I've been quietly working on. It’s not live yet; we're 95% finished. However, I believe this community deserves to know where HivePostify is headed before we launch.
The Problem I Kept Thinking About
Right now, every creator on Hive publishes everything to everyone. There is no middle ground. You either make your work available to everyone for free, or you don’t publish it at all.
That works for most content. But what about the creator who has spent years developing real expertise? What about the writer whose in-depth research posts take 12 hours to create? What about the photographer, analyst, educator, or strategist?
They deserve more than a 7-day payout window and a public post that anyone can access forever without contributing a single token.
I am creating a solution.
What I Am Building: Exclusive Content on HivePostify
This idea is not vague. The work is already underway. Here is exactly what the system will look like.
Creators can mark any content as exclusive. This includes articles, long-form posts, in-depth guides, and premium material. The content gets published, but the full content is locked.
Every exclusive post gets a public preview. Anyone browsing HivePostify can see the title, an introduction, and enough context to understand what it’s about. It’s like a trailer; it shows what’s inside without revealing everything. The post link will be on the Hive blockchain, as always, but the full content will be securely stored in the HivePostify database.
Access works two ways, and I am still deciding which to choose:
The first option is pay-per-post. A reader finds a post they want, pays a one-time amount set by the creator, and permanently unlocks that specific post. Simple and straightforward, with no commitment needed.
The second option is subscriptions. A reader subscribes to a creator, gaining access to all that creator's exclusive content as long as their subscription is active. One payment gives full library access.
My instinct is to launch with pay-per-post first. It lowers the barrier for both sides. Readers won’t have to commit to a monthly payment before even reading a piece. Once trust is established, the subscription option can be added later.
But I genuinely want to hear what this community thinks. I will explain more about why at the end.
The Creator Is in Control. Completely.
This is crucial, and I want to be clear.
HivePostify does not set prices; I do not set prices. The creator decides the price for every single piece of content and for every subscription tier they choose to offer.
If you want to charge 2 HIVE for a detailed analysis post, that’s your decision. If you want to offer a monthly subscription at 15 HIVE, that’s up to you. The platform facilitates the transaction while giving the creator control.
Payments will be accepted in HIVE and AHPT, the native utility token of HivePostify. I don't plan to add HBD at launch. Eventually, Hive Engine tokens may be included, but I want to keep things focused and stable for now.
What does HivePostify take?
I’ve been considering this and think it will be between 0.01% and 11.3% per transaction. I haven’t finalized that number yet. I’m seeking real feedback before making a decision, aiming for fairness to creators and sustainability for the platform.
The Writing Experience Is Not Hive Markdown
This matters a lot to me.
Standard Hive markdown is functional, but it doesn’t provide the experience I want for exclusive content creators. When someone is creating premium content on HivePostify, the editor should reflect the quality of their work.
The exclusive content editor will have better formatting tools than standard markdown offers. It will allow richer layouts and give more control over how a piece looks when read. This should create an experience that feels worth paying for before the reader even sees the first line.
Details about the editor are still being refined, but this is a key part of the plan.
What This Means for the Hive Ecosystem
Every paid access on the exclusive content system brings new value to Hive. A reader pays HIVE or AHPT to unlock a post. That HIVE comes from outside the creator's current earnings. It’s new money entering the chain.
Creators who build real audiences will have a steady income stream that doesn’t expire after seven days. This gives creators a reason to invest seriously in Hive rather than treating it as a secondary platform.
Where We Are Right Now
We are 95% complete.
The remaining work focuses on final security layers, the payment flow, and the dashboard where creators can view their earnings from exclusive content separately from their regular post rewards.
My board exams are approaching, which means progress will slow down for a bit. I want to be honest about that rather than go quiet and leave people wondering. Development will continue. Nothing is being put on hold. The moment my exams are behind me, we will move forward at full speed.
I Need Your Honest Opinion
Before I finalize the structure, I have two genuine questions for anyone who has read this far.
Should exclusive content launch with pay-per-post, monthly subscriptions, or both?
And a tougher one: What percentage cut is fair for HivePostify to take per transaction?
I’m not asking these questions just as a formality. The answers will directly influence what gets built. If the community strongly prefers subscriptions from day one, I will make that happen. If there is a specific number that feels right for platform fees, I want to hear it before deciding in private.
This community has been with HivePostify since the beginning. You deserve a say before we launch.
