Vision:
Pakistan deserves a system that allows every product sold, scanned, or bought to be traced back to its exact origin, location, and responsible party. Our goal is to create a national-level Product Trace & Verification System (PNPTVS) that offers complete transparency for consumers, regulators, and government authorities. With this project, buyers will be able to find out which company a product comes from, provided the government permits this information to be made public. The product will also have a record showing whether its expiration date is near, along with other key details.
With this system, each product, including groceries, dairy, eggs, meat, medicines, and other essential items, will have a verified digital record showing the following:
- Where it was produced or distributed.
- Who is responsible for it.
- Officially registered prices and certifications.
When we put this vision into action, the application and website we create will make sure that government-set prices are easy to see and follow. This means that no shopkeeper or seller can charge more than what the government officially approves. The system will also help stop the sale of low-quality or unsafe products. Sometimes, due to weak checks or outside pressure, sellers may try to sell expired items, unsafe food (like spoiled meat), or other poor-quality products. This system will help combat those practices. This is just one example the same idea will apply to all products. Each product will get a unique barcode. The barcode number or the code recognized by our AI system will be officially issued through our platform. Only certified and approved institutions that have passed quality checks will be allowed to use these codes. If someone tries to make or sell a fake or counterfeit product, its code will not match the official record in our system. In that situation, the buyer will immediately see that the product is fake, unregistered, or unauthorized. It will indicate that there is no official record or approved price for that product. This will ensure that sellers stick to government-approved pricing. Even if a seller offers a product at the right price but cuts corners on quality, the unmatched or invalid code will warn the buyer that something is off and that the product is not officially registered. Additionally, once a buyer buys a product, the code can be invalidated (for instance, if the label is ripped or marked as used), making sure it cannot be reused. This prevents code recycling or fraud.
Key Features:
Product Tracking:
Every scanned product will display its origin, producer, and distribution chain.
Consumers will have instant access to verified information, ensuring accuracy and authenticity.
Black Market Detection:
Any product that shows repeated irregularities, overpricing, or suspicious distribution will be flagged in the system.
These flagged areas will be highlighted for government investigation and enforcement, promoting accountability and reducing illegal activity.
Real-Time Reporting:
Reports of irregularities, overpricing, or fake products will be recorded and sent to government authorities for immediate action.
Data will be reviewed by humans to ensure accuracy and prevent abuse of the system.
National Awareness:
Educating citizens on how to scan and verify products will make every consumer part of the transparency movement.
Schools, colleges, and local communities will be encouraged to participate actively.
Consumer Empowerment:
Users can make informed decisions based on verified product information, reducing exploitation by black market practices.
This approach ensures fair pricing, safety, and trust in the marketplace.
Government-Supported Product Verification & Pricing System
I have a question in mind. I know that I cannot develop such a platform by myself without government support. If the government does not back or authorize it, we cannot force companies to implement codes on their products.
If we take this vision further and the government decides to support it, we can tackle many current issues in the healthcare system. I personally have not faced these problems yet; luckily, I have not needed to go to a hospital. I am still a student, about 16 years old, and at this age, I don’t have responsibilities that require me to accompany anyone. I hope that God keeps everyone safe from difficult situations and gives health not just to me but to all of humanity.
I’ve heard that some hospitals often run out of medicines and direct patients to outside clinics to get them. I have also seen similar reports on social media. I cannot confirm all the details, but I have heard many accounts suggesting this might be happening.
If the government steps in and supports a system like this, we can use barcodes on medicines. When scanned, users will know whether the medicine is real and officially provided by the government. Even if someone tries to remove the medicine from its box, reprinting the box isn’t difficult; after all, we print currency here. With a barcode system, buyers will trust that the product is genuine.
If the government officially adopts this system, hospitals or medicine distributors can link medicines to user accounts using CNIC numbers through our app or website. Users can scan the medicine themselves to check its authenticity before receiving it. We can also add an AI-based verification system, where users can take a picture of the medicine with the barcode, and the AI will confirm if it is legitimate.
Before, implementing such a system would have needed a dedicated team to manually verify images and prevent fraud. Today, AI makes this process much easier and more efficient. With proper government backing, we will keep full records of medicines received, sold, or given for free by hospitals. The system will also track who received each medicine and generate summaries automatically.
Even if some misuse occurs, this system will set a basic standard of discipline and transparency. Hospitals and distributors won’t be able to alter medicines or their records without being caught. Implementing this system will be cost-effective, efficient, and manageable, even for young innovators like me.
If we have support from the government, we can create a system where only certified companies or institutions those approved by the government to produce or sell these products would need to apply a barcode or a specific code number from our platform. This would help us build a very effective system. It would also improve tax collection since we would have complete records of all products and transactions.
Another key feature is that a mobile phone would act as a security tool. Whenever a barcode is scanned, if there is a problem such as a fake productthe system would capture and store the data. In areas where multiple issues are detected, we would be notified so authorities can investigate and take action. This would help prevent the sale of counterfeit or expired products and keep buyers informed about any issues.
Some products, like meat or eggs, may not accommodate a barcode. For these items, an AI system will scan and verify their price and authenticity. If needed, we can still add a barcode. However, in rural areas, not every household can be given certification. Still, we can manage these products to a large extent, and the AI system will provide details about what the product is and its correct price.
For other items, buyers can still make their own judgments about quality. Our system will provide a trustworthy reference for pricing. In areas with unusually high prices, scanning a product will show its fair price.
In short, the system ensures transparency, security, and fairness in pricing and product quality while making it easier for the government to monitor and regulate products effectively.
I have shared only a few things so far, but there are many political topics I couldn't touch on. This is my way of expressing myself. My goal is to do something meaningful for Pakistan. I don't want any government funding or support; I want to move forward on my own.
I am on a web platform, and my name is Aftab Irshad. I created Pakistan’s first Web3 social and freelancing platform HivePostify.cloud. So far, I haven't taken on any good success, but I hope to make it successful soon.
Another goal of mine is to create a decentralized welfare foundation to help people. I have hope for this too, but as a student, I don’t have the resources to pursue all these initiatives at once. God willing, if I live, I will fulfill them in time.
This idea has always been in my heart, not just in my mind. I have always prayed to God to help me do something for Pakistan. I love the flag of Pakistan deeply, and achieving this would bring me great happiness. If the government wants to implement it, they can do so without giving me credit. I don’t seek recognition or feel entitled to it. Maybe the government or someone else had a similar plan before me, but after searching extensively, I haven't found one.
I also want to make it clear that I am not asking anyone to speak for me or advocate for me. My admiration is personal. For example, I have read about Bilal bin Saqib in Pakistan, and I respect him deeply. If I ever have the chance, I would like to meet him.
Another wish of mine is to meet Malala Yousafzai. I have researched her extensively and learned about her achievements, including the attack on her, her Nobel Prize, her speeches, and her remarkable courage at such a young age. Her bravery and impact have inspired me greatly. I have discussed her achievements with my friends to show how a young Pakistani girl displayed such courage and made a difference.
Some people have raised doubts about her actions, claiming she spoke against Islam or clerics, but my research did not support these claims. My wish remains to meet both Bilal bin Saqib and Malala Yousafzai, as their dedication and courage continue to inspire me.
