Hey Guys and Gals,
Greetings and salutations friends, Sunday is upon us, and I am glad you are here. :) We use a lot of words in our everyday life that most times we don't know the etymology of. One such word that I encountered this week was "Jiffy". Example : I will back in a jiffy.
Jiffy is an actual factual measurement of a second. 1/100th of a second. While it's true origins are hidden in the fog of history, people speculate that 'Jiffy' was thieves' slang for "lightning.", way back in the day. I know, Crazy right? It makes senes... 🤔 but hmm neat!
