What's buzzing, friends!

Can we tunnel to the center of the earth? The Los Alamos National Laboratories in 1972 filed the patent for a really interesting device - a device that could make a glass tunnel into the earth. Today, let's talk about this device.

First, it's important that we make sure you know what The Los Alamos National Laboratories is.

Los Alamos National Laboratory is a United States Department of Energy national laboratory initially organized during World War II for the design of nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan Project.

This think tank designed a lot of crazy things. The thing we are talking about today, however, is the nuclear-powered earth-tunneling machine, capable of making glass tunnels at depths of up to 18 miles in the ground.

This theorized and patented device would be a nuclear tunnel boring machine. It would use molten lithium as its drill to melt through anything in front of it. Behind the tunneling machine, the walls would become thick glass as it dries.

They say things we read about are 5 years behind where we are... So it's not beyond imagination that the government did make this device, and perhaps have giant underground tunnels connecting everywhere in the world.
