Este es un clásico navideño y está inspirado en cuentos de hadas que contienen lecciones importantes, dónde mucha gente siente que se identifica con él y es que realmente nos sucede muy a menudo porque en esta época como diré más adelante le damos más importancia a lo material que a lo que realmente significa para ti para mí y para muchos la navidad y es estar unidos.

Sin embargo, la navidad tiene diferentes personajes dependiendo del lugar del mundo en el que te encuentres, pero el más famoso es Papá Noel o como algunos les dicen San Nicolás. Pero también está el Grinch, una criatura verde que cada año conquista nuestro corazón y es que este personaje verde en particular apareció ante nosotros a través de la versión cinematográfica. Pero… ¿cuál es el origen de este monstruo antinavidad?.

Les cuento, aunque algunos ya la han visto y es que está película está basada en la historia "Cómo el Grinch robó la Navidad", escrita en 1957 por el autor y dibujante estadounidense más conocido como el dr. Souss, dónde el autor critica el consumo navideño que desde entonces se ha convertido en una característica de las celebraciones de diciembre.

La historia del Grinch trata sobre una criatura que odia la Navidad. Este personaje verde y peludo vivía en una cueva en lo alto de una montaña, lejos de Whoville y, sobre todo, del bullicio de los preparativos navideños, que odiaba.

Ahora bien, el Grinch odia la compañía humana y las celebraciones felices y comparte su hogar sólo con su perro Max, pero durante las celebraciones navideñas está más irritable que de costumbre y en esta época del año la gente del pueblo estaba tan celosa de lo feliz que se veía.

Dónde Cindy Lou siente pena por el Grinch y sabe que ella fue la única que entendió sus problemas. Ella lo invita a una fiesta en la ciudad, pero el alcalde, que siempre se burlaba de él cuando era niño, vuelve a burlarse de él delante de todos.

Y aunque triste y avergonzado, el personaje verde continuó con su plan de robarse la Navidad sin dudarlo. Para ello, el Grinch se puso un disfraz rojo de Papá Noel, vistió a su perro reno con una gran nariz roja y montó en su trineo para visitar las casas de la ciudad, recogiendo regalos y adornos de los árboles.

Finalmente, el Grinch "se dio cuenta de que, aunque podía robar todos los regalos y decoraciones de Whoville, el espíritu navideño todavía estaba allí". Luego descubrió que la Navidad no se trataba sólo de cosas materiales. Me di cuenta de eso. Su corazón se triplicó, devolvió todo lo que había robado y fue bien recibido en la ciudad.

A través de las diversas adaptaciones de este clásico navideño, es importante que el mensaje más allá de "El Grinch" sea de unidad y amor, centrándose en regalos que tienen un impacto en una era en la que el consumismo está reemplazando al amor y, a menudo, está en el centro de atención.
