I was asked by and
to do a #NinetiesFriday post. Well, it's outside my norm, but how could I say no?
All right, so here goes nothing!

My connection to the 90's really was all the music that was out at the time, so that's where I'm focusing. Some great music came out during this time. I chose three examples from this era, ranging from serious to not-so-serious.
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Some of the music was serious. Released in 1991, this song was originally about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, but the band was told to change the lyrics. (Source)
It's creepy, has a great melody, and it's iconic.
These days, I typically hear it played when I'm at a hockey game. It's kind of an odd choice, but it definitely gets everyone singing.
Vacation - Vitamin C
Some music was lighthearted. For those of you who grew up with Pokémon and saw the first movie that came out about it, this one brings back a lot of great memories! This song was released towards the end of the era, in 1999.
I fondly remember the days of playing Pokémon with my cousins on our GameBoys, and later playing the trading card game together. Good times!
I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred
Lastly, some of the music was not meant to be taken seriously at all, but that's what made them great! How can you not love a song about a model bragging about how they're "too sexy" for various things, like their cat? This song was released in 1991.
The best part of the 90's was MP3 players made their debut towards the end of the era. This was a revolution in taking your music with you. Not only could you rip your favorite music from your CDs, but you could store them on an MP3 player instead of having to bring a big stack of CDs, a portable CD player and extra batteries.
That's it for my trip down memory lane. Maybe next time I'll cover movies, as there were some great ones that came out!
