ποΈ COMMENTARY
It is interesting to observe from or today's lesson that indeed there is something called conversion. We all know a bit about Rehab. To say the least, she was the prostitute into whose chalet the two spies that were sent to Jericho by Joshua found refuge. Upon that encounter she pledge faith in the God of Israel. You will notice that she eventually had a son called Boaz. And one of the most interesting things about Boaz is that he maintained his chastity till he got married. Although he had a late marriage, yet he protected his sexual integrity. In one occasion he woke in the midnight in his threshing floor and met a lady sleeping at his feet and yet he did not molest her, though he knew quite well that she came there just for him.
What could account for such life of moral rectitude other than a mother's influence? And what could account for such a godly influence from someone like Rehab if not the possibility of conversion. No matter your present moral posture, you can indeed experience change; the kind of change that will positively affect your upcoming generation. It begins with acknowledging your need of a Savour; the only One who can deliver you from the power of sin and renew a right spirit within you.
