🎇 SUBJECT:
THE DILEMMA OF THE MIXED MULTITUDE IN THE CHURCH
📕TODAY'S TEXT:
Many other people went up with them, and also large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds. Exodus 12:38.
🔑🔐 KEY VERSE:
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
💞 CENTRAL TRUTH:
The problem of the church is not the world but the mixed multitude amongst us.
🖊️ MAIN DISCOURSE:
The core problem of the church of Christ is not actually the devil or the world, but the mixed multitude that dwell amongst us. These are people who were not genuinely saved and washed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Remember the scripture that says that the Lord will separate the sheep from the goat, the chaff from the wheat.
Our text for today tells us that a mixed multitude followed the Israelites when they left Egypt by the miraculous power of God.
These people later seduced them into sinning against God.
The Israelites are a typology of the Church who were saved and delivered from the world and darkness. Unfortunately, those who didn't encounter the lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world joined in the procession, leading to all kinds of untold behaviour that ought not to be mentioned amongst the saints.
The truth is: one day, the Lord will separate the goat who represent the unbelievers in the midst of true believers from the sheep who are the sons of God on earth.
Where do you belong?
Are you one of those people who bring shame and disgrace to the body of Christ by importing worldliness into it?
Don't be mistaken; the Lord will never destroy the righteous along with the wicked. He'll separate them from each other first.
Stop hiding in the church and committing evil. Jesus will soon spit you out.
🔥CALL TO SURRENDER
"If you would like to give your life to Jesus, you can do so by saying this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I come to you a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept you into my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus' name - Amen."
🙏PRAYER:
Father, may I never be a part of the mixed multitude in Your church, in Jesus' name. Amen.
