CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
God will judge humanity not based on their achievements, but based on the quality of their soul.
KEY VERSE:
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them (Isaiah 11:6 KJV).
TEXT: ISAIAH 11:3-9 (KJV)
MAIN DISCOURSE:
There is a viral video online of a lion called Christian. Christian was trained by two young men when they found it injured as a baby lion. The young men took care of the baby lion until it was too big for them to care for. It was time for the lion to be released into the wild bush.
Some years later, the lion had been living a wildlife and was fully grown. Maybe foolishly, the young men went to see how the lion was doing. In the video, the lion ran at his masters and starts to play with them. It is a shocking scene, and a reminder to me when I was reading these verses.
Isaiah speaks about God's judgment of humanity. He says that humanity will not be judged based on the sight of humanity, but based on righteousness. God will judge humanity not based on their achievements but based on the quality of their soul. The poor and meek who did not polute and corrupt themselves, will inherit the earth. They will inherit God's kingdom. This message provided hope to all the people that would have heard it, and is almost mimicked by Christ when he lives amongst us.
PRAYER:
Oh Lord God Almighty the Omnipotent Jehovah. You shall quicken and judge the dead. We are so fortunate, O Lord, that You judge based not on our worldly achievements but on the quality of our spirit. Empower my spirit, O Mighty Lord, so that, I may in turn, enable those around me, as did Isaiah. For Yours is the kingdom, power and glory forever - Amen.
